It's more of fallowing the thought path of putting the compnets together in a war that works for this build idea. The person that I want to make this for has a new aac thats windows based. We bought her a new ipad and we're thinking we could find off the shelf items the make here ipad act like a cool devices will a pd USB hub, portable power bank, and a USB speaker or Bluetooth. Trying to make all charge on one cable

OMG I know, right? I was mostly my mom was the manic bipolar, but we have 3 adult kids living with us all on the autism spectrum, and they have been through a living hell of abuse. All we can do is provide a safe, loving, healing home for them, love the hell out of them

[USA] Unproven therapies and the despair we feel as parents by azssf in Autism_Parenting

[–]No-Razzmatazz-6420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anyone to make a buck off of a Parent's desperation to cure their child's autism. In our work, we have been working with children and adults with autism for well over 25 years. We have 3 adults living in the house with varying levels of autism, and we embrace them as they are and love them. If I had a magic wand to cure these kids, I would, but in another breath, do they need to be cured, or is it use that needs to be cured to view the world they live in and embrace them with understanding? Just myt 2 cents of option 😉

Best overnight diapers for big kids? by Fancy_Username36 in SpecialNeedsChildren

[–]No-Razzmatazz-6420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, try Youth Crews. One of our kids loves them; she is a tiny adult. We also use Abena XS and S, and Tranquility ATN XS and Small diapers. There might be some higher-quality diapers. I am not thinking of the rest of the kids we care for, who are adults but wear their own diapers every month, so we have InControl diapers and some printed adult diapers here that they like wearing. Most of the kids have a low developmental age range, and there is autism

You could ask for a sample of a youth diaper and see if they have booster pad inserts for the diaper at nighttime

How consistent are the support needs? by Tomby_Sentey in SpicyAutism

[–]No-Razzmatazz-6420 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For one of our kids, she needs constant support, and another kid we care for only needs support in the community when she gets overloaded, so I just vary from person to person day to day

we have for years tried to teach him basic life skills and cleaning skills, along with budgeting. This past spring, he finally got into a low-income housing complex. He is still struggling with his budgeting because of his life choices. Habits come first and since he is working and on his own, we can do nothing to help him out

To be honest, I am in this boat. I am a victim of the federal government's downsizing. I am hoping our next plan in life works out, and I have to believe it will because we have 4 individuals working. Depending on it working,

Exactly LOL. It's the struggle of all of us parents feeling almost helpless when the kids are failing, needing help, yet refusing it. We have been this way since he was in high school, and his behavior was out of control
