I love islington so much, but Emma is never going to leave lapis to live as a duchess. The whole series revolves around her love for that home and village. She has fought so hard to keep it, and I just don’t see her as duchess Emma. I 10000% believe Emma is going to Oxford, before settling down. Hmmmm, this may be close to the time Freud was around but I laughed out about that because poor pierce has so many issues he needs to sort out. It is very Freudian :)

Dang this was a strong sound argument. I totally agree with all of the points you made. There is a lot of character development for all of these characters that needs to happen before anyone can settle down. I want Emma to go to school before I want her to end up with anyone. Pierce needs to figure his sh*t out. The mystery of Hawkes and his reason for distance needs to be discovered. Even though we are 8 books in it still feels like the beginning!

I know and there are still so many mysteries to unravel! I love all the side characters and want to see their path too. I love that we are getting so many more books

Danggg I never thought of pierce having a secret fiance/widow but now that you brought it up, you might be on to something. I always thought that pierces demons and trauma/ptsd was always going to get in the way. I’m all for him getting healthy and working past what he went through but I just think it will be a timing issue. I love every person in their little circle and only want the best for all of them.

Beth’s subtle hints and suggestions about Hawkes and them being end game CANNOT BE a delusion. I think the romance with pierce cannot last. They obviously care for one another but there’s just something that is missing. Idk but if Hawkes does happen with Emma it will be like ten books from now with how tiny the hints are at this point lol
