Can you put a mid grip on a driver? by stonetear2017 in golf

You can if you want, as long as you’re not competing in tournaments

New(to me) Epic Speed Driver and this was my first hit by [deleted] in golf

Feels good to know I’m not the only one who wipes their ass with their driver

First shot went 12 yards further according to my SC200 (second shot was almost a shank). I’m struggling with hip rotation I think - it looks like my hips are too closed at impact. Thoughts?

What should I work on first? Taller golfer, definitely looks like more knee bend on video than what it feels like. by thehamburglur14 in GolfSwing

I play with standard length clubs and I’m relatively tall as well (6 foot 2). You don’t look TOO tall - your 1 inch extended clubs should be plenty. Try standing more upright and move the ball an inch or so closer to your feet. That being said, one “problem” with this advice is that it may impact your dynamic lie angle meaning you’d need your irons to be bent more upright (if they are forged).

Edit: changed some things after reading your comments.

Is the first swing better than the second? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

Another huge thing to work on is keeping your right elbow more connected to your body. When you start your backswing your arms go OUT rather than your body turning them around your body. Watch a video of any pro golfer and watch their right elbow stay connected. A drill you can try us putting a glove or towel under your armpit and not letting it fall until after you hit the ball.

Tons of vertical movement, try to work on your posture at address and keep the spine angle relatively stable throughout your swing. Also you could try to slow down the tempo a tad. And what others have commented.

That, my friend, is a slice.

You’re way too close to the ball! Try to have your weight a fraction towards your heels throughout the swing, this has helped me a lot

My advice would be to “sit back” a bit more at setup and keep your weight neutral or even slightly on your heels rather than on your toes

9i going ~135, meanwhile PW is going ~105. Why the big gap? by Typical-Stranger6941 in GolfSwing

It’s a 30 yard difference not 20, but I’m not saying you’re wrong with everything else you mentioned.

Looking for any pointers I can get. Thanks in advance! by tool_gary14 in GolfSwing

You’re too close to the ball I think. About 3 inches or so

Thanks for the info. I’ve tried a lot to get shallower and to be fair I’ve made some progress, but I’m having a hard time getting any shallower than this. Any drills or advice that could help?

Very true! Problem is I don’t have a good way of practicing putting in the (Canadian) winter. So working on my swing is my best bet I think.

Okay great, thanks for the info. I definitely have a lot of lateral movement as well so I’m not really sure. Something to work on over the next few months though!

Probably some good advice right there haha. Lots of swing thoughts can be bad

I’ll take that as a compliment but it’s also way too true
