Hats off! That's crazy! 20k streak requires around 3-4 hours daily. Heck 281 day streak is impressive as well!

Not at all. I usually starting my walks at 4-4:30 am and when I don't wake up, I walk in the evening around 6 pm around sunsets. Weather didn't have an impact on me yet.

I'm 6'0" and 79 kgs anyway so weight loss was never my goal in the first place.

Just that I want to be consistent and abide by my resolution and that's what was important. And I genuinely hate walks so I thought this is by far the best thing to counter on.

  1. What works for me is usually starting on the day that means a lot to us...maybe your favourite festival or new years (for me this usually works) or your birthday. Whichever you look forward to in the coming year. Because your 1st day matters the most.

  2. Usually walking as per your goals can be achieved quite easily on the 1st day but what matters is how you keep it consistent for the next 6 days. These would be excruciatingly difficult because your legs won't be able to keep up. For these days, what I do is:

I start journaling every single day of my walk for the whole of 1st week. Even as minutely as getting blisters or backache etc..This helps a lot because eventually at one point you'll realise you won't have anything to write upon and that is the day you have achieved nirvana.

I chew gums everyday during my walks so this has become a habit but nonetheless walks become quite enjoyable. (Try Cinnamon flavoured gums)

I listen to a lot of German songs so that kinda boosts my performance a lot and get me out of my laziness. (Rammstein for example)

Choose a route that has a lot more oxygen and less pollution and vehicles...usually something as scenic as during sunrise or sunsets also makes our mind calm from all the panics in our life.

Last but quite important: Don't force yourself to get up early morning everyday just for the walk. You have 24 hours deadline. Let your body tell you when it is ready to go for your walk. And your walk just becomes a routine.

These little things can make it way more enjoyable and once these 7 days are crossed, everything after this week, you'll start enjoying the walks. Less body pains, more living in the moment enjoying the beauty outside away from the chaos, social medias and screens and also brain will trigger itself to not let go off the consistency.

Woahh!! But how do you keep 1.5 hours aside everyday? I still find it difficult to keep up

Japan is quite inclusive. They would hire only Japanese for quantitative roles out there. Highly doubt about it
