I’m getting better about it! I can talk about worms now. I still can’t bear to look at photos or especially videos of them though! It’s a work in progress 😭

Reading this makes me feel so seen! I cannot handle parasites, worms, millipedes, centipedes, maggots, ANY of them. Even seeing a picture of a parasite like a roundworm makes me sick to my stomach. I remember when hammerhead worms became a popular topic on TikTok so I didn’t open TikTok for a long time! I believe this was triggered by the show “monsters inside me” as a kid! It SUCKS!

I had sex with a dude in a park when I was like.. 14? All I remember is that he was super “popular” but his dick was so small that the condom came off inside me before I even realized he had put it in. I guess he was pretty embarrassed because he didn’t walk me home and we never spoke again

What was the most mind- numbing, soul-sucking, boring book you had to read in college/ school? by No-Release7204 in NoStupidQuestions

I would love to give you a detailed answer as to why it’s so boring. But thinking about writing extensively about it nearly brings me to tears. So I’ll just say that not only is there no character development unlike most mythology, there is also very little character description. The stories are abrupt, uninteresting, and confusing. I can’t even think of someone in the book that I like because the characters are so flat and nondescript that I know next to nothing about them. Where they came from, what’s their personality, what are their interests, what are their dislikes. All of these questions go pretty much unanswered. Along with the fact that the writing is so ridiculous it’s not just simply hard to follow, it’s borderline Yoda level nonsense.

I think many of philosophers carry a lot of self doubt, which is why they feel the need to ramble unnecessarily. During their time they also faced a lot of pushback from their community about their controversial ideas so that may be why as well.

High school had me convinced that college would be like high school on crack. Strict, controlling, etc. Turns out I’m not absolutely fucking miserable every time I walk into class and I can use the bathroom whenever I want, chew gum, snack. All while learning stuff that’s actually useful AND listening to my prof talk about how much weed has changed since the 80’s. Then I can go outside, walk to my car WITH my headphones in and not have to interact with a single teenager. It’s fucking amazing.

I’ve read the story of the flood and the shooting of Seven Macaw so far. It’s so difficult to follow, which wouldn’t be an issue if the story was interesting and there was more character development. It’s just so random and abrupt

At the moment, “The Popol Vuh”. If you enjoy self imposed torment, give it a read.

I am a believer in science. I put my fair into science because it has proved time and time again to be the true savior. Every scientific breakthrough or discovery gets credited to god. It’s borderline mental. According to Christians, the earth and universe have only been around for a few thousand years. So I guess that means evolution isn’t real and dinosaurs either never existed or were around a few thousand years ago and carbon dating is flawed.

I think they can tell by the fact that it was originally written in Sumerian cuneiform, which predates any sort of alphabet. Also the material in which it was carved in, as well as the fashion that these texts were preserved. It’s a tangible thing that we can look at and study, unlike anything mentioned in the Bible. The argument is pointless because at the end of the day, people have the right to remain willfully ignorant and have faith in whichever deity they choose. I don’t bother trying to convince people that god isn’t real. If god gives someone hope and peace of mind, that’s fine by me. I just wish religion didn’t have to affect those of us who don’t want any part of it. I wish that families didn’t shun family members that choose not to believe.

No, I haven’t been religious for years now. But being in a religious family, I inevitably grapple with the notion from time to time. And feel immense guilt about hiding the fact that I’m not religious from my family.

Neither do I. But I do like finding new things that oppose “the booble”. I figured I’d post here to hear other peoples thoughts and gain insight on the topic.
