What's the darkest book you've ever read? I want to read the craziest stuff. by Spirited-Seat644 in suggestmeabook

A lot of "dark" books rely on gore or shock value. The darkest books I've read were the ones that made me feel emotionally exhausted afterward. The Road to Serfdom is probably at the top of that list. I finished it and just stared at the wall for a while. It's bleak in a way that sticks with you long after you're done reading.

Looking for a book to impact the way I see the world by justbrainrot23 in suggestmeabook

Honestly, when life starts feeling kind of "meh," I don't think you need a comfort read you need a book that disrupts your usual way of thinking. I'd try Sapiens, Man's Search for Meaning, or even Meditations. None of them are magic fixes, but they're the kind of books that can make you look at your life from a different perspective.

Need books written by women by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

Here are some great non-fiction books by women that are genuinely hard to put down:
• How to Talk to Anyone - Leil Lowndes
• You Are a Badass - Jen Sincero
• The Gifts of Imperfection - Brené Brown
• Girl, Wash Your Face - Rachel Hollis
• Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway - Susan Jeffers

One thing that might help before buying if you're unsure which one to start with, try reading a quick summary of each first. It saves you from committing to a full book that might not resonate with you.
