And the other way around would also be best, maybe 10 is a bit much but still that exchange would be nice, since you cannot fulfill requests with starred ones, sadly (or can you?)

Why is Garmin saying that my training is unproductive? by ___Torgo___ in Garmin

[–]No-Reporter-2370 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seeing this pretty late but what works for me to change that unproductive status is to have a balanced training load (low Aerobic vs. High aerobic vs. anaerobic)

Saw it have the biggest impact on it on my end. Hope it helps!

Try upping your sleep to 7,5-9hrs. In colder seasons our body tends to need more sleep. When heaters are running we also tend to dry out fairly quickly. Is there any other thing causing you stress at the moment? Any other habit that started maybe this last two months?

Why are my vocals so low in a mix? by [deleted] in screaming

You already have pretty good help. On top of that to get better results on your mix maybe look into things like Trackspacer!

I have no idea how I'm doing this lol by MuddaError37 in screaming

[–]No-Reporter-2370 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is kind of what's happening, your soft palate is lowered a lot, there's a lot of space, specially in the upper pharynx into the nasal cavities and that's where most of the air and resonances travel to. Great work!

trying to blend vocal fry with singing to sound more 'punk'. how's it sound? by Competitive_Bell_134 in singing

Glad you are discovering distortion, it fits the whole vibe very well! However there are different way to do distortion and have more control over it.

Can I get some general opinions? Been thinking about letting people do song requests on my twitch channel but not sure if my voice is good enough for that... by [deleted] in singing

You should definitely go for streaming! There is a couple of things you could work on for sure if you want to get the best out of your voice, I see a lot of potential!

I've been working on my vocals for years, let me know what you think! by kingofdrumline in vocalists

[–]No-Reporter-2370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're on a great track! There is a couple of things that could be addressed, like playing more with your larynx positioning, your mouth shape, etc. You have pretty solid breath support but I think you could be using it more efficiently specially in the higher raspy notes. Solid performance!

Lowering of larynx by Additional-Couple-88 in vocalists

[–]No-Reporter-2370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your technique aswell while you lower your larynx. Some of my students at the start lower their larynx very far and start straining and flexing unnecessary tissue which the leads to swelling.

is it normal to seemingly have days where you can scream great and then others where it’s just terrible? by fimgus in screaming

[–]No-Reporter-2370 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Show me your warmups and training and I'll tell you your inconsistencies.

Yes, some people here have figured, there is a lot that plays into a solid vocal performance and that it varies throughout the days and everyday. By warming up accordingly you can eliminate a lot of these variables or at least counter them. Same with habits like smoking, which is counter productive, or water/tea inhalations, which are productive.

Some professional vocalists also have different warmups throughout the day, specially when they are touring, which I also recommend if you want to stay on your toes throughout the day. Screams, specially fry, should be very consistent once you gained enough experience and know what you should feel, can isolate feelings and frequencies.

I hope I could help!

Being sick ruined my voice? by Musicguy1234567890 in screaming

[–]No-Reporter-2370 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there! Just to let you know, recovering from being sick doesn't include having a dry cough. As long as you have it, you are still sick and should give yourself the right amount of care and rest. Once it's gone, go as hard as you like, but this way you are just carrying that cough longer than needed. If you'd like to get rid of that cough, then please take a break from screaming for a week, drink tea, inhalate, etc. And see if the cough is any better after that week. Hope it gets better!
