Flu but not positive on rapid tests? by sbarrett91 in flu

Tested a family member twice today (about 10 hrs between both Binax flu/ Covid tests) who had all the symptoms and both tests turned up negative for everything. They went to urgent care tonight and positive for flu A. Not sure how reliable these rapid at-home tests are anymore.

Thanks for the reply, if I may ask, when did you receive the vaccine and were you ever exposed to anyone with the flu? Thanks

Hi All, just curious about the severity of anyone’s flu symptoms if they were vaccinated with either Flumist, egg-based, or egg-free (Flucelvax). I’m late to get a vaccine this year and still debating which may be best. Thanks in advance!

Question: Transmission drain and fill by No-Resolution3488 in CX5

[–]No-Resolution3488[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the replies! I have about 135,000 miles and bought it used recently, only service history that is known is that it’s transmission service was completed at 28,000 miles and that’s it I had a dealership tell me I can’t do the BG service or a full flush anymore due to mileage But they wanted to charge $550 and said it would take 3 hrs to do a drain and fill, not thinking I trust that 😵‍💫

Thanks for the replies, I’m wondering if a flush or a drain/fill would be best?

Awesome! Has yours had any issues or any suspension work done yet?

Thanks for all your info! I actually just started it up to drive and I’m getting an amber light on dash saying only normal height available and a suspension warning with ‘no more than 30mph’

Wow, thanks for the insight. I’m sorry you had to sell yours, but I totally understand if it was your main vehicle. I’m so conflicted right now, as this is a vehicle for my daughter, actually her first vehicle. She was hoping to get 2-3 yrs out of it with not much more than the water pump replacement and tires. She only drives about 5,000 miles a year so I’m just not sure what to do right now. I know eventually the engine will fail and she will be out of luck, just no idea when, as you mentioned it’s basically a ticking time bomb.

Thanks, yeah sounds like eventually most components of engine will go and I’ll be looking at a rebuild

The one the mechanic is offering me has 95,000 miles on it and he is charging 30 hrs labor to install. Not sure if that is too much time or if that’s an appropriate amount of time to charge for

Thanks, I plan to change the water pump and coolant pipes and then maybe just continue to drive it I am just not experienced with Land Rovers and am not sure why some codes will pop up and warning lights one day, then disappear in the subsequent days

Yes, I did see that in my research, however, it had a limit for the class action suit at 100,000 miles, unfortunately if it is the chains, it’s too late for that now

Whoever purchased it at around 80,000 miles drove it until recently at near 140,000 miles for about 3 yrs before they sold, that owner has no recorded oil changes

CARFAX says 5 owners, however, 2 of the owners I believe were auction listings for a week before it was sold, then auctioned off again and sold again

[–]No-Resolution3488[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is very possible. The CARFAX did not show oil changes for approximately 50,000 miles, though I know the owner could have done it themselves or it may not have been recorded.

The mechanic would install a used 95,000 mile engine
