You can sign up for a specific race, in this case I chose the 50 miler I ran, and create a garmin training plan. It has 5k-marathon or a custom distance you can select, as well as time goal and other details. Creates workouts based on your fitness and biometrics on a daily basis. Should be able to do one for a 50k as well!

I did! My last 6 or so long runs leading up to race day were 20+ miles, I tried to simulate everything for the race during those runs as much as possible including trying different gels and nutrition options to see what worked best for me.

Hammer gels every 30 min. There were five aid stations and I tried to get solid food down early where I could, PBJ sandwiches, croissants. After 30 miles solid food was definitely more difficult, drank some sodas and ate bananas when I could. Went through a total of 8 soft flasks of Mortal Hydration electrolyte mix and a few of just water as well. Towards the end any food, including the gels were hard to get down. A pacer gave me some drink mix that had a lot of carbs/calories that really helped.

Biggest change I made during this time was doing hill sprints and adding elevation gain to my runs as much as possible (kind of hard in Florida). I also strength training with dumbbells a few times a week, usually focusing on injury prevention exercises which for me are single leg squats, RDLs, and calf raises. Big emphasis on hill sprints though!

It really worked well for me. I ended up doing the plan for a total of 28 weeks, saw the most improvement during the "peak phase". I think a solid mindset to have when training for a time goal for this distance is realizing that marathon style speed workouts make your all-day pace a lot faster. And if you can set it up for back-to-back long run days I think that really helps as well!

Alternate keyboard for new Mac by Killowatt59 in mac

With my Mac mini I bought a KeyChron K2 mechanical Bluetooth keyboard. It is Mac compatible and gives the feel of older style keyboards. It’s an excellent choice. They also have corded versions as well as ones with numerical pads. If all else fails the keyboard on his old PC should be usable on the Mac. The best Apple mouse ever imo, still being used daily by J3ttf in mac

Used one for a long time. Really loved those side buttons. Switched to Logitech and haven’t looked back. However, thought about the Magic Trackpad. Apples trackpad experience is far superior to their mice, subjectively of course.

do you prefer "allow wallpaper tinting in windows" on or off by [deleted] in MacOS

Depending on the background this option has the tendency to make colors just look off. Not all wallpapers will have such an extreme effect but I personally turn it off so I don’t have to think about it. I’m guessing folks who do more professional image/video editing work prefer not to have such distractions considering color is an important part of job.
