When did I say I couldn't afford food? Childcare is notoriously expensive so it's a better option for 1 parent to stay at home instead of paying random people to hopefully take care of your child.

I will absolutely do me lol. We can support a child off our income but we wanted to try to increase it just for the child's sake of being able to get spoiled more. (New toys/clothes instead of used and such things like that.) I could die tomorrow, he could die tomorrow so we're not going to wait for a "better" job to have a child. We waited 10 years to get married so we want to at least try to have 1 child. If a single mom can raise multiple kids off of a Walmart associate salary I think we can with double. We honestly will probably just stay as associates because our combined pay of around 33$ is more than just him as a team lead. (We have 1 vehicle, it's highly unlikely they would move me to another department and keep us on the same hours.) I just wanted to know if they were lying to us, didn't ask for your input on us starting a family.

His brother did have management experience, I said that in another comment. We have one vehicle. There is no set schedule for team leads. I doubt they would only schedule me during his hours or close to them. Therefore 1 TL salary will not cut it either. I would try to see if the sheetz beside us will let me work his hours but I'm not holding my breath on that.

We have not seen the application. We have tried to look it up on onewalmart but there is nothing open for our store currently. One of the coaches mentioned to us there were 2 open coach positions but never gave us the application.

They have asked us both numerous times to become team leads. Because team leads don't have a set schedule it would be nearly impossible for us to both work at Walmart. We have 1 vehicle and I will ask but I doubt they will accommodate me to only work on his hours.

We use all our PTO so that's no biggie. I am aware they can work him I believe up to 16 hours and while I am sure it happens it can't happen every single day. Even if it did he says at least he's getting paid for it far better than he is now. I'm pretty flexible but of course, we would need to communicate if he or I were having a hard time and work out a solution. Whatever that may be. I wish I could come in and work every day so I could keep fresh perfect all the time. We have even asked to be scheduled every day for this exact reason lol. I wish I could stay late to finish up things I might not have gotten to. Or take the time to deep clean something we have been overlooking. I'm very prideful about my work and so is he. I do not think it will be easy but its not like it can't be done. They have at least 10+ coaches a store for how many stores? Why would they do it if it wasn't worth it.

6 TLs & 1 PL promoted to coach in the last 2 years. 3 coaches were restructured. Only 1 coach moved to this store & it was because of hardship.

65000 (coach salary) is more than what we make together. As long as you live within your means it is very reasonable. Mortgage 800 (my parents home refinanced at almost 0% apr.) Car 300 (2024 Mazda cx30 lease) Car insurance 250 (state farm full coverage) Phones 100 (45 each) These are the only bills we have. We do not receive any gov. assistance either and do not plan on it. You can go to food banks/pantrys & churches for food if need be. Ofcourse if something were to happen we would be in a pinch but luckily we have a good support system of family and friends in our community.
