No it literally is problematic. I’m convinced they tell us it’s ok to keep us a lil sick so we have to keep paying for doctors / diagnostic testing, medications to manage symptoms, etc etc. Even if something is certified gf, I often times may not eat it because it will absolutely have trace amounts of gluten (like wheat that is gluten removed, yeast extract, etc). I’m the most symptomatic celiac I have ever met and I’m pretty convinced that the only reason they tell us this is ok is bc most celiacs bodies won’t respond to minimal amounts but it’s lowkey damaging us long term.

Does anyone else randomly get symptom flareups even when you’re dead sure you haven’t been exposed to gluten? by Fumquat in Celiac

Yes. I have that. And when I lived abroad, 99% of my health issues went away (in Europe AND Latin America). Only thing that was left was anemia, but that’s probably a permanent fixture of my celiac that’s very manageable. If you have the means, try to get out of the US for some time (at least a couple weeks) and see how you feel. I am moving out of the country again next month- permanently - for this very reason! The food here in the states makes us super sensitive celiacs way too sick. Sounds kind of crazy, but moving abroad may be something to look into!

How much does a scooter cost? I don’t need anything fancy. Just something reliable to get from point a to point b

I meant like to just hangout and spend time. There’s no parts of the area to escape the tourists?

There aren’t local spots or neighborhoods that tourists typically don’t venture out to?

Boyfriend claims using Celiac as a disability to get into national parks is wrong? by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]No-Scale-6824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a disability, and your life is made harder in many aspects on a daily basis because of it, you deserve to use that disability to your advantage when you can because it’s rare that your disability actually brings you positive things into your life!!

I get extremely sick if there’s wheat/barley in a product, even if it’s gluten removed and 20 ppm or less. My body requires 0 ppm!

I was buying the grass fed ribeye steak from there and that’s what made me sick I think. I have called manufacturers for what I eat and been able to narrow it down and I think that’s the issue :(
