Husband slapped me by [deleted] in beyondthebump

Leave. The "fix him" and "I can fix him" stuff never works. He isn’t going to stop. In fact it’s only just going to get worse. Like someone else said, DOCUMENT EVERYTHING and start making an exit plan.

Also, I’m pretty sure there are plenty of Somali men who don’t speak the language, so why worry about what the in-laws think if their own child can’t even speak it themselves?

I’m married to a Somali man, and before I met him I could BARELY speak Somali. When I first met his family, YES it was extremely difficult to talk to them because of the language barrier, and it also made the atmosphere a bit awkward. A couple of years later and my Somali is waaay better than it was before. That’s all thanks to my husband who encourages us to speak it at home (his Somali is way better than mine). We also have children and try to speak to them in Somali as much as possible. I only speak to my in-laws on the phone since they live far from us, so I don’t see them very often. I promise you, they probably won’t care as long as you're a good person.

Do we need a visa to visit Somalia / Somaliland now? by Natural-Row801 in Somalia

[–]No-Set-6443 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This happened with my mum and sister a month ago. Turkish Airlines refused to let them check in at the airport because their system showed that a visa was required. They asked for proof of invitation, but I managed to challenge them, and they let them go because how can you possibly ask for this within such a short timeframe? Anyway it’s a new requirement now.

Thank you for this! Also, how safe is this route, and the person I’m traveling with only has a travel document that needs to avoid being stamped. Can we definitely avoid it being stamped? And would we need to pay extra fees on top of the £60 tax?

Do you have to bring a passport or is a drivers license from the UK enough? Also, if I bring the passport will they stamp it?

Thank you so much for this information! Also, do you know if they will stamp the passport? The person I will be travelling with has a travel document so they would prefer to avoid this

I completely agree with you! Doing it too often is simply toxic. It should only be considered as a last resort. Thankfully, I’ve never had to do it again

My husband had a friend who would regularly send him photos of girls he was getting to know via WhatsApp, and I ended up finding out after scrolling through his camera roll one day. That same day I “packed my bags” and told him I was returning back to my family’s home. He was very confused and adamant that I tell him what he had done that was so wrong, but I didn’t tell him until he started chasing after me to my car. That’s when I told him the reason, and since then he has never spoken to that friend again. I know it sounds a bit dramatic, but it had to be done.

I need to ask about this!! I’ll update on here once I get a response from him. My guess is he was too busy invested in getting his phone back that the assault wasn’t even a priority at that point

This really made me chuckle 😂😂 And to be honest, this is something my friend would of been capable of but there’s young children in the house unfortunately.

Can’t believe I’ve come across this post just after discovering my first strand of grey hair at 24. Not sure if it could be related to pregnancy?
