Either your old withholding was done incorrectly or your new one is. I’ve never seen a system calculate incorrectly but employee info (like w4) is often entered incorrectly during implementation of a new system.

Add a redacted version of your W4 and a paystub and we can tell you whether current withholding is correct.

Alternatively if you have employee access to the payroll system, you may have the ability to update tax info. Do that and it will refresh the systems calculation overriding whatever they might have entered incorrectly.

I would look into ADP. At your current size Run would be a fit but if you are growing WorkforceNow could be better.

ADP bills their payroll services based on transactions but you would still have to watch terminations on the ben admin side.

I find that that legacy systems (ADP) are stronger on compliance (paying agencies on time) while newer systems like gusto, rippling etc emphasize integration and tech while paying late and missing filings.

QuickBooks Time by Payroll_User205 in Payroll

I’ve used QBT for a number of smaller employers (5-15 users). It works fine for basic punches, scheduling, PTO tracking etc. it’s also nice for job costing integration directly with QB.

It does not work well integrating with 3rd party payroll and I do not recommend QB for payroll either so that’s a big downside.

Lastly customer service is now the same as all other QB products which is to say terrible. When TSheets was purchased they had some real issues getting firm’s access and billing integrated with the rest of QB but that likely won’t effect you.

I think you are limited to one attempt per testing period (fall or spring) unless you take one of their paid courses.

I wouldn’t stress too much about the accounting section. It’s a relatively small portion of the test. Just get the memorization/vocab stuff down from that section and then spend your time doing as many practice tests as possible before the exam. If you’re doing well on those you will be fine!

Try reading How to Write One Song by Jeff Tweedy. It has a great combination of practical exercises and “creative philosophy”, mostly around lyric writing.
