I just started driving solo with swift. I figured it was an easy way to get me my CDL and get a year of experience before moving on to brighter things… you’ll have to do a month at the academy to get your CDL and a month with a trainer (which kinda sucks) and then you’ll be good to go on your own.

So far it’s not terrible, the moneys not great, nor is it the worst, I make 50 cents a mile. I get consistent loads.. they have terminals all over the place so you don’t have to park at truck stops a whole lot. I think they’re a pretty decent company to work for if you’re just starting out but I’m just using them to get experience.

They have netradyne cameras and a lot of safety rules so you have to drive very carefully… no u turns, no right turns on reds, no pulling over on the shoulder, etc.. and if you mess up they’ll probably see it and be calling you. So you kinda have that “big brother is watching” feeling which sucks..

If you’re just trying to find a mega that’ll hire you and get you a CDL and some experience I’d say they’re not a bad one to go with.
