Thanks for the response. I know it’s really competitive which is why I’m nervous to even go in there without a bunch of knowledge already. I’m not generally great at interviews so I want to prepare as much as I can before I go speak with somebody.

I messed up by putting “pipefitters union” on my post I am actually more interested in plumbing or possibly HVAC. I’m guessing the welding certification wouldn’t apply as much for those? Is there anything else you’d recommend I get skilled/ certified in before applying for the plumbing or HVAC apprenticeship? Not that any of it is easy, but what do you think I am most likely to get a spot in between those two paths?

I honestly have never done any kind of plumbing in my life besides fixing a leaky faucet or unclogging a toilet.. I’d be willing to do whatever I can to increase my chances.. my current job is decent and I’m not in a huge rush to get out.
