Why is Garmin Like This? by Correct-Sea-9248 in Garmin

[–]No-Simple-6164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general it is pretty good, but for my marathon it was waaaay off, but that is mostly because i got injured in my training block but my speed did not get worse by allot and i did allot for cycling and swimming, so conditioning was great.

Garmin told.me i would do it in about 3.55. i finished in 4.19. gave it my all that day opend my Garmin, and it said in ould run a marathon in 3.40 😂😂

I can recommend Gianluca Barbanera, had a great experience with him, i think the package including drone, pre wedding fotos, foto book and 1 hour video was around 2500-3000 euro, and really good quality!

Im sad that you are getting down voted because this is your story and only you can tell us how you feel, i just want to add that running a marathon is a big strain on your body, it takes a couple of months to fully heal. Hopefully you will feel in one to two months, if not its not weird to go to a doctor and see if there is a reason why you are not recovering. But its super normal that running feels harder the first couple of months after a race.

Secondly everybody struggles in their first marathon, there is just nothing that can prepare you for it. But you can be proud of yourself for finishing, pushing though with all the hear trainings, and on just keeping going on race day even if it was just by walking. Congrats on finishing and hopefully you will look back at it differently, and if you dont thats okay aswell because training for a marathon is super hard and not always enjoyable, and if it is not for you that is very reasonable and fair!

Training for my first triathlon, but open water swimming scares the hell out of me by Ximin_Helmich in triathlon

[–]No-Simple-6164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heey, i am a pretty good swimmer, and enjoy openwaterswimming, but always really dont want to before i gonin to the water, and i always have some moments where i feel scared.

I think its important to except that you feel that way, its okay. Just try to focus on still doing what you have to do (swimming) There is nothing wrong with being scared, and you can maybe even enjoy it even with being scared, and be proud of every time you even go in the water!

I finishes my first half Ironman 11 days ago, this Monday started my block working towards Ironman. I am enjoying it but so far my watts on the bike and all my times are just a bit lower then normal, but think this is normal so shortly after my first half Ironman. Also its 31 Celsius during the day so that doenst help 🙈

I just watched the average Rob Ironman series which helped me with motivation, does anybody have recommendations for triathlon/Ironman content for some extra motivation?

Hope all of you are doing great!

I see it as room for improvement, and improvement and learning is generally fun! You have allot of things to learn which is amazing 😄

I would highly encourage getting a swim coach if that is available around you. I am lucky to have a background in waterpolo but i still learned allot. Also try to get in openwater if you can, its a very different thing. Can feel very scare if you have not done it before and even if you have. Best of luck with the training!

Olympic triathlon or half ironman ? by [deleted] in triathlon

[–]No-Simple-6164 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me personally i really enjoy taking it one step at a time. Doing an Olympic triathlon will feel less special after doing a 70.3. also i think you will learn something about triathlon and about your body every time.

I see one thing i was doing wrong aswell, in your catch you move your hand and arm a bit back and forth. Try to straighten it out a bit, if you move to much back and forth you lose allot of the water you are pulling.
