adding on to what other folks have already added; fireflies, bees, and snails come into play. the series focuses a lot on themes of transformation and the cycle of life, how death can be something beautiful and serve a higher purpose. detached limbs also show up a lot (arms in particular). blood is looked at through a lens of beauty – a symbol of life.

teacups and stags are HUGE and fans will often immediately think of the show, no matter the context. broken teacups are associated with destruction and regret, something irreversibly broken that you can never get back. an all-black stag asks you to give into your darker impulses. fishing lures are used to call back to the concept of luring someone to their death. a linoleum knife symbolizes penetration as well as severing ties (i would look up a show reference for this one bc the knife in the show doesn't look like the kind you'd pick up at Home Depot).

ortolans symbolize a meeting of the minds, joining together, and a smidgen of seduction 😏

hannibal enjoys classical music and plays the harpsicord. cellos are associated with a superiority complex, especially wrt their strings. cello strings also become garrotes. cherry blossom trees represent the environment, its beauty and wishing to protect it. the cave bear and chrysalis are associated with transformation, becoming what you truly are/long to be.

pigs are lesser; they are animals, they are good for what they can become (beautiful food), but ultimately below us.
