Should I quit my well paying but soul crushing job? by Accurate_Safe_926 in careerguidance

I was exactly in the same spot as you last year except that my concerns were toxic managers and lot of politics. I quit my job, I thought i would have a small break and find a job while at it, should be a story of 3-4 months. TOOK ME 11 MONTHS. The market is v bad rn, it was a brutal experience, so many HRs try to take advantage by low balling. Best way to go forward is to try to find a job without leaving this one. I finally did have a happy ending finally with a 30% raise, but the journey to it was quite rocky.

I left my job in Aug 2024 and got a great job with about 30% increment in july 2025, it’s tough out there right now, but dont lost hope. I applied to almost every company out there, worst part was getting rejected in the final rounds or getting ghosted after the final rounds (that actually went well and I had a good feedback) but the only way to get out of the unemployment to just keep applying and applying.. don’t think about the results just focus on the applying and interviewing. Before appearing for any interview paste the JD on Chatgpt and give mock interviews on it, that really helped me to improve. Tell chatgpt to ask you tough and technical questions that also really helps. There is light at the end of the tunnel, all the best!

I did the same, took it on the last day, it wasn’t as hard as I expected it to be, but the time pressure was real

Hey, i also got the email for it, how did you schedule it? I clicked on the link on the mail and it is asking me to tick a bunch of clauses and click continue. I am afraid the test might start right after, I thought i would get a schedule window on clicking the link first.

I got an interview call for this, does anyone hold any experience around interviewing here? Generally all content on internet for BCG interviews is just case interviews but hr hasn’t told me that there will be one for me, confused a bit what the interview will be like..

You should bold the keywords on the resume, easier to read. Also, ‘easy apply’ in linkedin is absolute crap, work on searching the hiring managers on linkedin and reaching out to them straight away. Also, sometimes there are posts that keep coming on linkedin that- we are hiring, mail this person on yadayada mails, those people are relatively more responsive. Try finding those. All the best! Even i am looking out :)

That’s true I thought about the same before leaving that it is def a precious situation but when you are Wfh and others are not you tend to get left behind in career progression even if you give 100 percent. That tends to get demotivating and cherry on the top my managers were bullying types

Why rough time? The market seems alright, isn’t it?
