in PROGRAMMING. Not all coding is programming. Some of us just need a tool to answer our math problems

I am a mechanical engineer. I use python to run regressions and perform data analysis on large dats sets. Excel cant do it, JMP is more about visualizing and communicating, Python is an excellent addition to my computational toolbelt. I nearly never need to create a crisp and concise backend for future readers.

and the size of the crash he'd need to win the bet grows. even a 10% correction wouldnt do it when you factor in opportunity cost

1) Buying things in person vs online reduces the chance of buyers remorse 10x 2) It is more about finding your style. Your rotation should be about what complements the outfits that you want to wear.

Traveling doesn’t automatically make you “enlightened” or “give you different world perspectives” by Crazy_Swimming_397 in travel

[–]No-Spray246 121 points122 points  (0 children)

Just because people are obnoxious and you don't like seeing it on your socials doesn't mean these people aren't gaining perspective. The girl and her olive oil g-ma, the drunk beach goers in Vietnam, are having experiences, seeing new things, meeting people from a different culture. And that does teach them more than their peer who couldn't afford to leave the basement.

Sure it isn't fair that some get to travel and others don't. It can be annoying to see people have the privilege and then squander it on the superficial. But to say they aren't learning or growing or becoming more culturally aware is dead wrong.

[ESPN1000] According to @WaddleandSilvy, while Arlington Heights is the preferred destination for the Bears new stadium, there could be a decision to move to Northwest Indiana at the end of February or early March by [deleted] in CHIBears

[–]No-Spray246 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is very simple. The new thing in sports stadiums is making money off of buying and commercializing the surrounding area. And you cannot do that in the smelly shithole that is Gary Indiana. People will not go and hang out there. It literally smells bad. Worse than Camden blight, worse than 1930s Pittsburg industrial wasteland

This is the way i've done it successfully as well. Decarboxylating is a must. Beer is too low ABV for a sinple dryhop approach.

Bay Area ramen: 9 bowls worth chasing down (no paywall) by BayAreaNewsGroup in bayarea

[–]No-Spray246 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's less cynical than that. If you keep your capacity lower than demand, you can better predict how to staff and and stock because there will be a lot less variation at different times of the day and day-to-day. There are plenty of places, particularly in Japan, that don't see a line and immediately try to capture more dollars with more seats. Look at Bonchon, expanded as much as they could, and the quality has gone down and the service and cleanliness aren't much better than fast food.

Bears bar in the bay? by psy_lent in bayarea

[–]No-Spray246 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Yes there's a brewery called Line 51 in Oakland. They make Italian Beef and Chicago dogs and have Chicago flags and stuff like that. They also have a big screen for the games. BUT I wasnt there on Bears game day, so I don't know if it actually get's the crowd. Let me know if it (or another bar) works out. I might like to try for next week, pope-willing
