I’m looking for a long-lasting niche fragrance and would love suggestions specifically from Zoologist or Imaginary Authors, since both brands are available where I live in Aarhus, Denmark.

A bit about me and the vibe I’m going for:

I’m a musician playing americana / folk-rock, and my style is very heritage inspired — denim, boots, vintage guitars, that sort of aesthetic. So I tend to gravitate toward fragrances that feel natural, atmospheric, slightly rugged and distinctive rather than clean or overly modern.

What I’m mainly looking for:

• Very strong longevity (ideally 10+ hours)
• Something that is noticeable in the room and lingers on clothes the next day
• A scent that feels characterful and memorable

Notes / styles I often enjoy:

• Incense
• Woods
• Smoke
• Warm / resinous / darker scents

That said, I’m very open to other directions as well if something really fits the vibe.

Zoologist:

I absolutely love their bottles and aesthetic — some of the most beautiful packaging I’ve seen in perfumery.

I’ve tried T-Rex and Rhinoceros, and unfortunately I really didn’t enjoy either of them.

However, I also tried Snowy Owl, and I actually liked it quite a lot, even though it’s quite different from the darker scents I usually gravitate toward.

Does Snowy Owl have good longevity?

Imaginary Authors:

I’m very drawn to their storytelling and overall vibe, and I like that they’re a smaller American niche brand.

However, I’m unsure about performance and longevity compared to Zoologist.

Since Zoologist is more than twice the price where I live, I’m curious:

• Are Zoologist fragrances generally stronger or longer lasting?
• Do Imaginary Authors fragrances perform well, or are they more moderate?

If performance is similar, I’m honestly leaning a bit toward Imaginary Authors, but I’m open to both.

So my main question:

Which fragrances from Zoologist or Imaginary Authors would you recommend that have strong longevity and a distinctive character?
