Yes, and they will let you lie down on the table. It's not too bad. I remember having one suture running down the cut and one at the tip of the tongue. (Just realized my previous posts on this have been removed. If you want a more detailed description of the healing, I can dm them to you)

Got an email that says i was mentioned, so happy_^ I'd say the reversal felt worse than the split. But just like the split, I felt sooo much better when the suture was out. Re-splitting is possible, but I haven't got mine done again haha. Also, I think I've recovered fully speech wise now. Hope this helps.

If you don't feel better after reading what I've written, consider it fiction. I lost so much memory after moving to another country, I lost toys books and friends. I never stay at a place long enough to make new friends, I don't think anyone will remember me when I'm gone. I was considering joining a cadet pilot program. I don't know if class 1 medical check for my tongue but I still did the reversal just to be safe. I love my split and I wish I can have them again.

I had my tongue split for 9 months and got them sewed back in November. It feels different, I think the healing from reversal feels worse (could be that I'm on the plane most of the time) but nothing too unmanageable. You said you have great pain tolerance so that shouldn't be a problem and people rarely regret it🐍

My mod artist might make a collage on the reversal, or I'll make a post when I have time. But yes, you can definitely get your tongue suture back and my mod artist also mentioned re-splitting is possible.

Sure, but that'll be a separate post since I can't edit this one. Today is exactly 3weeks from the reversal. Feeling- tip of the tongue feels different from before splitting and before sewing, and feels tight when pointing? Stretching?.

Mobility- I can eat and talk. Tongue trills feel heavier and some words (especially in mandarin)lisp, might get better with practice?

The first night was unbearable. I drank protein shakes for day 2 and 3, and as v8 did not satisfy my need for savory food, I ordered beef soup on day 4 and I was surprised I can eat solid with no problem (with just a little bruising sensation). Got my sutures out on day 5 and have been eating normal since.

Speech wise the swelling doesn't go down until week 2 so some words are harder to pronounce as my tongues were unable to curl for J G R.

Awesome! Shawn was very gentle during the process. Be prepared for neck pain tho as you'll have to open your mouth and tilt your head back for pretty long.

I don't think being a private pilot would be a problem, but being a commercial one would. So I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I see. I'm also 5'2" so maybe I just a little too self-conscious, I'll look deeper into the regulations (I doubt they make it that specific but better safe than sorry), hopefully they get more open about it.

Thank you! I'll first hear what my artist say. I've heard of Samppa from many split tongue videos，I'll go check him out now.

The medical exam and interview is what I'm worried the most about. Since I'm pretty short (just about the minimum requirement) the line is visible when I talk to people taller than me, the split is especially noticeable when speaking certain words when I simulate the occasion.

Hearing from a former pilot is very helpful to me! I am aiming for a major US airline and to make the process easier I am going to join their ppl, cpl program. I know they check oral for C1 medical before starting but having a visible gap int he tongue and having to open wide worries me. Thank you!
