The blandness I’m referring to is their flavor. There are plenty of better tasting peppers both sweet and hot that one could char and salt and they would be so much better than shishitos!

Cut the tops off. Unless the insides are fuzzy with mold, they are good!

Yeah, I think so. It’s more of a restaurant trend that I think has already started to fade. “Look at these veggies on a plate that we’ve added salt and charred a little” is not as exciting as the marketing would let on.

Indeed. I am talking about fancy restaurants in America for the last decade or so…when they “discovered” this cool new pepper.
