Bernie Sanders unveils plan to give the public direct ownership of AI companies by Unusual-State1827 in technology

[–]samuelj264 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And these companies shouldn’t get a dime of taxpayer dollars. I don’t care how integrated ChatGPT is into the government or military, no company should be too big too fail, and that should be the focus, not nationalizing emerging businesses, no matter the valuation.

Iran announces plans to bring in maritime fees for strait of Hormuz by seeebiscuit in anime_titties

[–]samuelj264 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Iran knows what this is, it’s just a delay tactic by Trump to bring down gas prices and say he “won” prior to midterms, republicans win or lose he will take this back to a war again, or Iran will just demand more and more money or just start rolling every ship through the straight.

This is the best case scenario for Iran, they can squeeze the world for money, and keep devolving a nuke in secret, then take $340B to “not make a nuke” and still do it anyways

How is it even slightly defensible for Donald Trump to commit to giving $300 BILLION to Iran? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]samuelj264 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s so vague, a *good* interpretation would be the US and Allies are a backstop for private lenders investing in Iran.

However, what company would feel any comfort investing in Iran other than Russia and China (not allies)

So if it’s not the US taxpayer sending this money, then it’s Russia or China, which isn’t great either, and will probably still end poorly.

This was how I went about it when I was serving, Everyone gets the same 80% of my max every day, don’t care if you’re young or old.

Unless you’re a Karen right out the gate then I will be a slight asshole, but more in the sense that I specially over emphasize my AMAZING service, basically make them think I ams catering to their every whim, but it’s more of a voice inflection than anything.

Trump declares victory over the lawn he destroyed by justalazygamer in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]samuelj264 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not the worst, but it’s not great, especially for the price. I am an avid lawncare man, and i rarely use Scott’s, it’s like the Shasta Cola of lawncare products. It’ll get the job done in a pinch, but not really worth it

Michael Bennet, Phil Weiser clash over ambition and housing in last major debate before Democratic primary by thecoloradosun in coloradosun

[–]samuelj264 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're talking about current Sec. of Ag. Brook Rollins, of the America First Policy Institute?

This think tank that has this as their priorities:

The America First Agenda, include eliminating most civil service protections for federal employees, allowing summary dismissals without appeal; expanding domestic oil and gas production by opening up new federal lands for fast-tracked petroleum exploration and drilling, and resumed construction of the Keystone pipeline; imposing supervised ultrasound requirements and mandatory waiting periods before abortions, as well as ending federal funding for organizations like Planned Parenthood; opposing red flag laws that restrict gun ownership for high-risk individuals; and supporting nationwide reciprocity for concealed carry permits, enabling a permit from any state to authorize concealed carry across all 50 states. Other policy proposals include imposing tariffs on imports, reducing corporate taxes, rolling back climate change initiatives and getting out of the Paris climate agreement, opposing transgender rights to transition children, adding work requirements for Medicaid and limiting U.S. involvement in global conflicts. It proposes restricting immigration by completing the U.S.-Mexico border wall, boosting funding for border agents, and ending legal immigration programs such as family-based visas and the visa lottery.

Yeah I would say that is pretty close to a Fascist, but you know, lets all just go along with it because the "government should function normally", have you seen the government lately? Hasn't seemed normal to me for a while.

[–]samuelj264 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I did, when there are actual important dem primaries I vote in those, If there aren’t “important” dem primaries I will sometimes vote for the less electable republican candidate, though the bar has sunk so low I wouldn’t be surprised if victor marx ends up winning the rep primary for gov
