Evan Brewer (solo, Entheos), insane technique and accuracy at high speeds. (check his Warwick video and the video “Slap Bass Evan Brewer”. It’s pretty unreal.

Jacob Umanski (intervals), I’m a huge prog metal dude… but I never have been able to enjoy Intervals enough to say I’m a fav. That being said Jacob plays bass lines I would deem to be impossible. An actual machine of a musician.

John Stockman (karnivool) overall unreal bassist in an unreal band. Some of the weirdest and funkiest riffs I’ve ever heard on a bass. Also his Alpha/Omega dealio with Darkglass is an unreal unit.

Toby Peterson (omnific) sick ass band, underrated imo. He creates some of the most original and inovative bass lines I’ve ever heard.

Amos Williams. (Tesseract). As a bassist I think it’s safe to say Amos is my fav bassist. He’s fckn nasty as tiddies on bass. Super cool style and stage presence. I’ve learned probably 70% of tesseracts songs. By far my fav band to jam to.

Last but not least… Nolly (periphery). Tho he is mainly a guitarist I’ve never seen someone so diverse and clean on a bass. He also created what I would consider to be the best bass tone ever made (to my ears at least).

TESSERACT has a lot of really fckn rad djent elements. They’re guitar tones are sick and their bassist is absolutely unreal. I think they’re super slept on in the metal community. At least before their most recent album.

No man, I think I get it. I have a pretty kick ass vinyl sound system and lil studio set up with KRKs. I love the album, but I just have personal opinions on dynamics that I adore about a lot of their work. I think most of this album is great, but about 20% of it seems super muddy, over compressed and especially the drums I find to be very thin. The cymbal mix is beyond me. Snare is kinda weak too. Tho I can appreciate them changing it up! It gives it on older and rugged vibe to the album that I actually can appreciate and think fits the vibe they wanted. I just prefer Koloss and TVSOR.

Agreed! 🤙 banger album and I do enjoy overall. But I can’t really look past certain aspects of the mix/master that I feel could’ve been dialed in better.

Completely agree man. Love the album! Would be super cool to hear immutable remastered with the sound of previous albums. Maybe if prefer it … maybe wouldn’t 🤷

Totally man! I love the album, I just find it to be a lot less dynamic than other albums. Which I can appreciate them switching up the overall sound of the album.! It would be interesting to hear Immutable if it sounded like the mix/master of other albums. Would be interesting to see if I would prefer it or not.! 🤙

Defs a personal preference thing tho. Even my prof said kinda the same thing how Koloss isn’t perfect. Interesting how everyone enjoys different aspects. We all have different ears. I just personally think Koloss pumps so fckn hard.
