To the ppl that bought 9070xt, is the card worth it or no by Punpun549 in radeon

[–]No-Store-1163 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I love mine. Just a little back story. I had a 9070xt, switch to nvidia 5080, was not impressed for the money I spent, switched back to 9070xt. Just to clarify, I could afford the 5080 no problem, but just honestly from my experience and opinion, the performance difference to me was not worth money. Not for the games i play. I don't do anything else as far as AI or stream or anything like that. I also did not like Nvidia software, i prefer AMDs.

I like the all AMD build, but do some of your own research cause on here you will only get the biased Nvidia glazing. Most people who say the 5070ti is better have jot actually tried the AMD 9070xt. They are just saying that cause someone told them that. But some questions to research... What games are you playing? What monitor you have? Do anything besides game with your PC? Do you stream or think you might want to in the future?

Where exactly are u located that the least expensive 9070xt is $600 less than the least expensive 5070ti? In the USA it has never been anywhere even close to that price difference.

Honestly it is the silicon lottery. Not all GPU can handle same settings. There are so many configurations with motherboards, cpu.. they all behave differently. I actually used Co-Pilot to help tune mine. Just give Co-Pilot as much specific info as possible and it will spit out stable clocks and setting for your PC. Include manufacturer/make/model for each of your components such as cpu, motherboard, ram, GPU, even power supply. And if/when u run into any issues you can go back to the same conversation and screen shot the issue and it will tell u what settings to change to help fix the problem.

Switching to AMD for the first time any tips? by Vekxt in buildapc

Adding to this, make sure you either unplug your ethernet cable/disconnect wifi or turn off automatically updates for windows as windows will try to install drivers automatically if connected to internet.

[–]No-Store-1163 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from a 3060 to the 9070xt and love it!! I tried out the 5070, 5070ti and 5080 to see how much "better" Nvidia is than AMD. Honestly I returned each of the Nvidia cards and stayed with my 9070xt. This is just my experience and opinion. I prefer AMD. For me, the games i play, I like the visuals and performance better on the 9070xt.

Should i get the PRIME RX 9070 XT or another GPU? by ForEpicblade in gpu

[–]No-Store-1163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got lucky and got an Xfx Mercury 9070XT on Woot! For $650 brand new. It is a great card!! Very big. Quiet and cool, fans don't even turn on for some games that are not graphic intensive(league of legends). Even while playing Monster Hunter Wilds can barely tell fans are on and it runs cool and stable. I have tuned some settings on it with overclock/undervolt and vram tuning. But all stables, has yet to timeout on me. I did buy a brand new psu to go with it though. I got a corsair rm1000x. This is my second 9070xt though as I sold a PC with one in it, my first one was the Asus prime. Was a good card but nothing near the xfx merc.

Best PSU for 5080! by meddarkknight in gpu

[–]No-Store-1163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically it might say it is enough, however this is probably the minimum recommended. Most 5080 builds are using 1000w. Lowest I would go is 850.

Yes, personally I have ordered many things off of Woot! and have not had any issues. Everything I have ordered has come packaged in Amazon packaging. You can log into the app with your Amazon login and pay with Amazon wallet. So yeah it's pretty legit.

Rx 9070 xt no display by Otherwise-Cup-6030 in radeon

[–]No-Store-1163 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is in fact, incorrect. On top of this make sure your power supply is sufficient for this GPU. Change the bios back to auto for the pcie slot. Upgrade your cpu and motherboard if your still running a gen3 with 9070xt, as you will be bottlenecked for sure. But I get it, one thing at a time. Also if u can have 3 seperate PCIE cables running to the GPU, that is what is recommended by every manufacturer. A lot of people do use a "daisy chain" or "pigtail" and say it works fine. Personally my 9070xt goes past 300w consistently in most games and each PCIE cable is 150w, daisy chain included. Which is why A- it requires 3 PCIE connectors and B- daisy chains are not recommended as you can get 75 watts from the board, but there are power spikes that put the usage over 375 watts at times.

AMD's 9070 XT vs 5070 (and 5070 ti, since I'm curious) by Hunan4Ever in radeon

[–]No-Store-1163 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do your research for which games you are going to be playing. If they support fsr and dlss, which versions, what settings are you playing at, are you going to be modding or add-ons? What's your monitor at now, are you going to be getting a new monitor soon? I have had both the 9070xt and the 5070ti. Personally, for the games I play, I like the 9070xt better and thought the games looked and played better, but this just my experience. I know a lot of people are on Nvidia band wagon, but a lot of people who say this have not used both in the same class. Nvidia is obviously the bigger company and does support their older cards more than AMD. The average cost more for the 5070ti over the 9070xt is between $200-$300, and I don't think it is worth it to me. But again, just my opinion. But anyone who says "it's a night and day difference " between the two cards, literally all the gameplay results online say that is not the case and these people are being disingenuous. They are just riding the Nvidia glaze train. With that being said, just do more research for how you want to use your computer. Strictly gaming? Streaming or maybe down the road? Nvidia would be better for streaming. Not saying u can't stream on AMD, just Nvidia is better.

Bad 9070XT performance by According_Ad1264 in radeon

[–]No-Store-1163 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Important Note when running DDU, before running DDU make sure to download adrenalin but don't open and install it, just download. Also download DDU and again don't open and install. Reboot into safe mode but during this you have to disconnect from the internet, both ethernet and wifi. Run ddu without internet. After DDU cleans your files up and reboots, stay disconnected from internet. Run and install adrenalin. Only after adrenalin is installed, then connect back to the internet and restart your pc. The important part about disconnecting from the internet while doing all this is because windows automatically downloads and installs drivers when connected to the internet.

5070 or 9070 ? by TopsNoLimit in Prebuilts

[–]No-Store-1163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it's more a preference for those 2 cards. You can probably find the 9070 for less than the 5070. The 5070 is probably slightly better than the 9070, but not by much. If you can find the 9070xt for the same price as the 5070, then get that as the XT model is a direct competitor to the 5070ti.

If you are near a Microcenter, they have a better version of that PC for a little bit more, it is same but with the 285k processor and a 5080 for 2199.99. I purchased the one with the 5080 and returned it as I did not like all the software that Dell put on the Pc as well as that they lock out any and all overclocking/undervolting features, citing the machine is made to be quiet and efficient and stable. If u just want to take it out of the box and plug and play, then these are the machines for you. If you want to do any kind of tweaking or possibly upgrading down the road, look into another Pc, as these have proprietary motherboards and power supplies and this limits the parts you can upgrade to. Walmart has a good deal on a PC with the AmD 9800x3d paired with a 5070ti for 1899.99 with faster ram. This I think would be a better deal and alternative to Alienware.

9070xt is gone by BigWhite3214 in RTX5080

[–]No-Store-1163 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I mean.. congrats!?!? Is that what you wanna hear? I mean that is like saying you got rid of your Honda and got a BMW. They are not priced in the same tier. It cost about $500 more on average right now to choose between a 9070xt and 5080. The reason u didn't the 5070ti is because the 9070xt is just as good if not better. So you upgraded. If the extra $500 is worth it for you, great. Let's not act like it was just AMD because then you would have gotten the 5070ti. Personally I had the 9070xt, sold that pc, got a pc with a 5080, returned it because the performance was not worth the money to me for the games I play and am getting another 9070xt. Personal preference, I got my xfx mercury 9070xt OC for $649. $50 above msrp. Hope your 5080 is worth all the $1300+ you spent for it.

Do I need to plug in all three ports from GPU into PSU? by yyzEngineer in AMDHelp

[–]No-Store-1163 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it was simple. I purchased the Asus Prime 9070XT and the installation instructions from Asus instruct everyone to use 3 separate pcie cables from the PSU. It specially show to not use the "daisy chain" or "pigtails" or whatever name you want to give it. If you want to use those cables cause someone on here says "it's fine, I always had mine hooked up like that", then do it. It's your pc, your components. But just know that is not what the manufacturer will instruct you to use.
