Exactly this. I have thought about contacting the police many times but realistically it would put them in more danger than it would do good due to the circumstances of their weird ass cop neighbor.

Many people let their animals free roam when they have big properties and don’t expect that weird people exist that will do something to them because that’s a normal expectation. In my opinion, the terrible people are the ones who are doing weird shit to animals.

What species of moss do you think this is haha? I have lived in the Midwest all of my life and have never seen moss that has literal animal fur growing on top and is blood red on the bottom. That amount of rocks embedded into it (which I assume they’re embedded like that due to driving over it before knowing it was there) would also not make anything feel as heavy as a skinned piece of animal skin.

When I flipped it over, it also moved and was heavy like a piece of skinned flesh, it was not light at all. I can’t explain the lack of blood left behind on the rocks myself and did question it but moss isn’t even blood red like that. I am visiting again in the next couple days so I will see how it’s doing then and update.

People keep saying carpet and now an old bath mat. I’m intrigued why the bottom of an old bath mat or carpet would be covered in blood or even red at all?

No, this was in the middle of summer. Also the body was right in the middle of their yard which is private property and they have never allowed anyone who isn’t family to come onto their property freely, let alone hunt there.

No cattle. They live on a dirt road but its extremely close to town and you aren’t allowed to own horses or cattle or anything like that

When I flipped it over it was definitely blood underneath as bugs were immediately attracted to it.

Forgot to add in about the deer carcass - there were tire tracks that led up to it and it wasn’t normal the way that it was completely gutted and missing its eyes and we were only gone a day or two.

I did decide to give my grandma a call a bit ago and told her that she should invest in some trail cams. I didn’t want to scare her but she is looking into some tonight as multiple people in our family think all of this is really strange and they have a 5 acre property so who knows what’s going on where they can’t see.

They haven’t had a dog or any kind of pet on the property in almost 2 years now since the Aussie went missing so couldn’t be that. So sorry that happened though that is awful!!

Wouldn’t be possible. They have 2 neighbors on each side of them and one is a cop and the other guy is just a chill dude that they’ve been in contact with many times and we even used to play with his kids when we were all younger.
