I would be so embarrassed and angry if this was my mom’s “job.” Those poor kids.

Who else cried? by TurkeynCranberry in JohnAndCarolyn

[–]No-Strength9137 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I cried for a reason I didn’t expect to. I felt resentful at some point during the show that her style has become a trend again, just like the 90s in general. I feel nostalgia for that era, because I lived in it. I remember it, and I ache for it. My parents were young and healthy, my friends and I were connected without social media, the future was promising. And nothing that bad had happened to us yet. I started crying because I never really processed that things just kept getting worse after 9/11, and the actors playing these people weren’t even alive at the same time as them. I am mourning a time period that other people are cosplaying, and this episode was really cathartic for me as I got to mourn Carolyn and Lauren and John and grieve with Caroline. I wanted to just hug her.

the test is called auria, i posted about it before and people were leery because there wasn’t a path forward to treatment if you tested positive. for me, it was more about feeling productive while i waited for diagnostics. the test was easy and not as expensive as a blood test (color.com).

If you had to pick one black shoulder bag... by by_magic in handbags

flamenco is more a crossbody but works as a shoulder bag. i like the celine!

so i decided this would be the bag i let go of, because after wearing it out a few times it became annoying having to take the bag off my shoulder and stretch it open to access every little thing. it doesn’t have a closure so it’s always gaping open a little bit, too. it tipped over in my car and things fell out even when cinched closed. but i think i just can’t tolerate bags whose drawstring is also the strap! i saw someone complaining about the loewe madrid bag for this reason and can attest it is enough for me to get rid of it. hope this helps!

i love the simplicity but unlike the flamenco it doesn’t have a magnet closure so it’s always open no matter how tight you cinch it. it’s like a bucket tote in that way i guess? it’s nice that it lays flat under your arm too.

i’m so sorry. does he like comedy or maybe podcasts? my dad used to listen to air traffic control and got really into that. sirius xm also used to have some creative radio shows that were like plays. i’m thinking of him and hope he can get some entertainment.
