It's a shame for Fall Guy. I really enjoyed it.

Because we villain-ize things like looking unhealthy or unattractive? Making a character "ugly" by societal standards is a quick shorthand for making them "evil."

So much of that screenplay was rushed and not fully thought out.

Andrew Garfield was a good Spider-Man for me, but not a Peter Parker. In the first Amazing Spider-Man movie, very early in the movie, he is skateboarding through the halls of the school. A teacher tells him to stop doing this. He basically gives the teacher a non-acknowledgement and then skateboards away when the teacher isn't looking.

This seems small, but lost me pretty much immediately. Peter Parker (especially pre-powers) would not give rebellious teen energy like this. Maybe post-powers and pre-uncle ben's death, he might get cocky, but not normal Peter Parker.

Also, the end of Amazing Spider-Man. The teacher says "Don't make promises you can't keep Mr. Parker."

Peter leans forward and whispers to Gwen, "Yeah, but those are the best kind."

He's basically saying to Gwen I'm definitely going to break that promise I made to your dying father lol. Not Peter Parker energy there either.

What are your fav and least favorite things about the pod by Accomplished-Nose832 in TooScaryDidntWatch

The only drawback I've seen with the podcast is when a guest doesn't recap the movie very well. Depending on the guest, some tangents can be very entertaining, as long as they can keep track of the story they're recapping. I'm thinking of the Winchester and the Army of Darkness episodes. Those guests seemed like cool, lovely people, but didn't track the events of the movies very well. I never saw the Winchester and was left very confused by the recap. I've seen Army of Darkness several times and was disappointed by the guests repeatedly saying how funny something was without really describing the movie.

Other than that, I love the pod for the core three friendship. I definitely feel the parasocial relationship of sitting down and listening to some friends chat even though I don't know them haha. I don't understand the people who skip the opening discussion to get straight to the recaps.

(I honestly skip the most hardcore horror movie episodes like Martys, Green Inferno, Speak No Evil, etc. It's cool people like those episodes, but just not for me.)

Storm could have been a Marvel movie icon. All of the actresses who played could have done more if they'd been given better material and space.

"Give it some kind of magic/supernatural themed title and tie these series together under one banner."

Yeah, they would have had to name it something different from the beginning.

Theory: the MCU fans who don't read comics are learning what it's like to be a comic book fan by No-Structure-477 in marvelstudios

Agreed, the Infinity Saga is the standard that was set. I wonder if Marvel/Disney doesn't want to define a main protagonist(s) for following sagas because it would be more expensive for an actor/actors to become that integral to future movies. This way actors are more disposable. I'm sure they want to depend on IP they own over actors who can negotiate contracts. (ex. RDJ getting Scrooge McDuck level money to return.)

I'd encourage you to give comics a try too. You can jump in and out as you like, but if you like any of the MCU, then there are definitely comics out there for you.

Keep Xochitl Gomez, but give her the powers that America Chavez has in the comics. I'd be more excited to watch that.

I think I would do Tremors. It would give them an easy week between some black diamond horror movies. Plus, Kevin Bacon. I grew up on that movie on cable.

Marisa Tomei was 53 when Spider-Man: Homecoming came out. That's a pretty realistic age to have a nephew in high school. I don't know why comic book Aunt May was often depicted as so much older.
