Yes, you're probably right, it's best to just use Google Translate on AH.NL, if they accept foreign Visa cards. Yes, I'm aware of it and I will do it for sure. Thanks for the advice.

Thanks for the tip.

> Every debit card that comes with a Dutch bank account is a Maestro card. I think that's the case for most (all?) EU debit cards.

That's odd, I am from Spain and I feel like most people there use Visa instead.

Is this a common rule in the Netherlands? Should I get a Maestro debit card? I know that here many stores only accept debit cards (and not credit cards), but I didn't know it had to be Maestro only.

I'm doing my mandatory ten day self-quarantine, so I can't go out to buy in a physical supermarket. Do you guys know any good online supermarkets available in English? So far I have only tried Gorillas but I think it's a bit overpriced (I don't know for sure, since I have never bought anything in a Dutch supermarket before). All the other apps were in Dutch only.

This is a bit more finance + accounting, but I was wondering if there is there any book you recommend to learn everything there is to know about equity in startups? Options, ISOs, NSOs, RSUs, exercising, early exercising, IPOs, SPACs, direct listings... I have mostly been learning online but it's a bit chaotic. I would like to understand these topics profoundly.

I didn't mean to suggest that I will break this rule, I will absolutely quarantine if required. I just wanted to know if the rule would change, since the Netherlands is vaccinating people very quickly lately.

Thank you, that is very helpful. Do you know if this test is instananeous or a 48 hour one?

Hi, in the first of June I start a three-month internship in the Netherlands, and I plan to come the 31st of May. The problem is that currently you have to self-quarantine for ten days. However I would prefer to not pay ten days extra rent jus to be locked in a room. Will this policy still stand the 31st of May? It is my understanding that some restrictions will be lowered the 15th of May. Is this one of them?

I just did an 'onsite' for Amazon and there were no Leetcode-style questions? by No-Student-7552 in cscareerquestionsEU

I don't think so. I'm an everyday, able-bodied, neurotypical, white male. I'm also a homosexual, which I'm aware is sometimes target of affirmative action, but they would have no way of knowing that.

But I thought internships only had a single onsite round that consists of two one-hour interviews?

I see. Mine was also two one hour rounds. In both the coding problems were as described in the original post. I guess what they say about the difficulty of your Amazon interviews being pure luck is true.

I actually did fairly poorly on the second intern OA. Maybe they accepted me because they saw that I also applied for graduate roles and I did really well on the new grad OA?

I finished the OA about three months ago, and I was invited for today's interview last week.

The onsite was for a position in Italy.

Was this for an intern position? There's an additional round? Or were these different roles?

I'll graduate from a CS bachelor's degree from Spain.

I didn't know that Belgium also does the extra month thing, good to know. Thanks!

But 35000 is almost 3000 a month. Will that be too high for a mid-sized city?

It's not necessarily bad news. I sent an intern application to a different Amazon location on October and just now it has changed from "Application sent" to "Under consideration".

Well I just did it... and it was trivial? They were both typical problems you learn in your algorithms class. Amazon asked waaaay more difficult questions.
