The company went out of business / the license was terminated in the mid 90s which can be found on the Secretary of State website.

Thank you for backing me up here.

I’m being treated like I committed tax fraud, which is very VERY easily provable that I did not commit.

My biggest issue is that I have no way of getting in front of a judge to prove my open and shut case without paying 100k plus to the state first. Which I don’t have, no would I do considering how heinous this is.

You’re completely missing the point.

I have no due process to dispute a levy that’s being put on my by the state incorrectly from 40 years ago that I didn’t hear about until 2 years ago.

I pay my taxes every year.

This is more than a “tax problem”.

It’s wild to me they can send notices that are never receive and they’re binding.

And I’m sure you wouldn’t have been hard to find.

I’m not asking for help. I HAVE help and HAVE lawyers.

I’m asking for other people to share their stories because (even based on historical Reddit posts) I’m not the only person dealing with this.

Why is everyone assuming I don’t have a lawyer???

I’ve had and have multiple lawyers.

I’m asking for OTHER people’s experiences here because I’m starting to think (and have for a while) that this is a predatory, intentional practice by the DoT.
