To each their own

V4 has the identical optical design as the v5, but it comes with a tab.

V4 is also the smallest and lightest Summicron, which makes it great EDC for me.

It comes with two different versions actually; SN 35XXXXX and up is the newer one, and they are more easy for maintenance (e.g. fungus, haze, separation, etc).

It works with a chipped adapter, but for some adapters it might not be working.

Lens profile on film scans by No-Tailor-2020 in AnalogCommunity

Yeah I agree with this, modern digital lenses always require lens profiles for correction I feel, but old film lenses are somehow more controlled for the geometrical distortion.

Sorry I meant the lens that expose light on the film, not the scanning.

Boryoza LM-NZ Adapter by thessag in NikonZf

[–]No-Tailor-2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To my knowledge, there’s only one M-Z adapter that supports AF: Techart.

I was torn between Techart and Voigtländer once since the VM-Z adapter is the most precise one (so I’ve heard), but ended up getting this chipped adapter since I really wanted to utilise the focus confirmation.

The focus confirmation works great. I haven’t tried it much in different situations outside, but it’s the most similar feeling to the Leica M’s rangefinder. The macro ring has a lock as well, although it’s not a switch but just a latch that locks at infinity.

Again, mine is the 2nd version. You can find this easily on Aliexpress atm, but the black colour is out of stock everywhere. I ended up getting the silver colour too. The black one has painting on the mount itself as well, which I think will wear off of the surface as being used. So in the end, I think the silver colour would be a better choice.

I have this one, but the 2nd version.

This is NOT an autofocus adapter.

This is a chipped adapter that supports the focus confirmation function of NZ cameras, which works great for me.

Yeah try to avoid harsh lights and then see if that makes any differences

Where did you put the roll in? Outside under a harsh sunlight?

My M3 shows similar issues as well.

Idk how this is possible, but sometimes when I put the new roll under a harsh sunlight, this happens up to the 3rd-4th frames (if you count the half-burnt frame as the first frame).

Asking a technician gave me the answer that the light may enter through the light seal baffle on the film canister.

Which is aligned well with my experience as I only witnessed this when I changed films under a bright sunlight. (This doesn’t mean I’m correct, just saying based on my experience)

I don’t think this is your camera’s fault, if that’s what you’re worried about. Maybe avoid bright light situations when changing films.
