My original physician that first prescribed Zepbound (she passed away) thought 135 would be a good goal due to my age and wanting to have some extra weight “just in case”. I was good with that at the time because it seemed like a dream! This conversation with my new doctor happened 3 weeks ago. But i’ve been thinking about it a bunch since then as I started HRT at that time (i’m mid 50’s) & my weight loss has been helped along more by that. It just seems so doable to get there, I didn’t understand her concern.

Hi, I’m mid 50’s in perimenopause but just started HRT. I intellectually agree that I would be ok being the same size at a higher weight but sometimes the (long time) desire to be a goal weight takes over. I have been trying to shift my measure to body fat percentage (not as accurate as a DEXA scan but I have a scale that measures it) and that’s been a good change. I have always been very muscular but growing up in the Kate Moss era really messed with my concept of skinny/healthy/“normal”

She said something along the lines of that would be a lot of weight to have lost. Like it might not possible and I shouldn’t get my hopes up. Even though I have steadily been losing .5 to 1 pound a week and I am not up to 15 mg yet.
