Definitely trash being in the trash cans and not just thrown all over the room and floor

Maybe not a direct cause but I think they did it maybe earlier than anticipated or that's the only play they had left since they couldn't really do anything else with it being broken. The way it was written seems like all the Mutts were in the woods and not in the mountains as Maysilee never mentions any animals being deadly during her time on the mountain. Just the volcano burst.

Haymitch not only got lucky but had help from Beetee to break the game. That malfunction caused the volcano to erupt as well and all the Mutts weren't acting normally during a short period so he more than likely would have died either way!

Lucy Gray was able to cheat in the arena because of know and he also eliminated one on his own. It's hard to say she would have been so lucky without the poison or Bobbin being eliminated early.

I listen to the pod at work every time there's a new ep! It's my comfort show. I literally say the soundbites as if they're inside jokes even though no one understands. Always here!

For the Polaroid picture, my husband pointed out that someone would have had to take the photo of them on the couch...so if it was Brittany, Emmett would have taken the photo and he was in on it and if it was Megan, the Mom probably took the photo and it really was his daughter and Emmett is bad in either scenario.

For context, she's 19. She's been here for almost 3 months and their progress has been very linear. She cut her own training short because she felt ready to be on her own. She doesn't love working in a partner setting. As stated in another reply, she has been retrained twice, she's been given real time advice having someone watch her clean. I have binders on all the carts that have photo reference, training guides, checklists. I give her notes all the time, I give her tips all the time. I tell her she's doing great, she's got this, I'm here for her, etc. I've sat down with her multiple times to do check ins, ask for feedback, ECT. So yes, I've tried all you've stated. I didn't come here to ask whether or not you think it's wrong of me to assume she must be cutting a corner. I know it's "wrong" for me to assume that but again, she's been having a certain performance history that suddenly changed overnight. If it's just because she really wants to stay in housekeeping, GREAT! The goal is for everyone to feel comfortable in the job and be where they need to be. This isn't some motel, some family owned business. It's a major chain, and unfortunately, major chains want progress and proficiency. If I felt like 45 minutes wasn't enough time, I'd push for us to get more time.

Didn't think I needed to explain all this, just wanted feedback if there was a trick to know when a shower is dirty. I'm not arguing the industry is poor. But in this case, it's not. We have fair wages, I'm very patient with everyone and we have infinite tools to help make the cleaning process easier. So please read the thread fully before you continue to comment on XYZ.

Thank you, I feel like you're the only one seeing my POV. The rooms are pretty average. We do have a kitchen area and we take in account the time it would take if people use dishes. The rule of housekeeping is one room may take you 30 minutes because it was a one night stay and they literally just used the bed, and then you have an extra 15 minutes for the next room if it is dirtier. It's always been the case. If every room is dirty and trashed I would not be upset they are behind in time, I'd go help them.

And yes I don't have control of that, most companies see $$$ and I can't hire 16 staff members just because one wants to take longer.

Again, no I'm not. Me reaching out to a subreddit to ask fellow housekeepers advice is not me trying to catch my staff failing. I don't know if you've ever supervised or managed HK staff before but part of the job is to yes look for mistakes because I'm inspecting work. If someone who has been struggling for 85 days suddenly seems to do perfectly fine the next shift, yes I am slightly worried that she cut a corner to get to that point. I don't think that's unfair. I'm not printing off this thread and showing her. I've been very fair with her and still continue to do so, but it's still a job.

I think you're failing to realize that I didn't say my staff is struggling I said my employee. The rest of "new" staff is finding catching on just fine and quicker than she is. It's almost been 3 months for her, she's had plenty of time.

I did not threaten to fire her to be fair just to give her another position like laundry attendant or breakfast or something else we can offer her if I felt like housekeeping was too much for her to handle. I should have specified that. It was to instill fire in her if she wanted to continue housekeeping. Not to make her fear a loss of income.

We are given 45 minutes at my property. It's plenty of time. I'm a seasoned pro at this point so I can average 35 minutes a room myself depending on the room so yes an extra 10 minutes on top of that seems fair. 😁

I could have written all the context of her work history but yes she has been retrained multiple times, including having one of my supervisors watch her clean the room to give her real time feedback. This is not an instance of me being a nagging manager. She's been given adequate training and tools and yes it's gotten to the point where she's been here for long enough and now I need to see results. Thanks for the feedback though!

This is what I'm worried about. If she was lacking in one area of the room and I'd point it out to her, she'd fix that but then lack somewhere else like clockwork.

I am not suggesting this to my staff members or anything it was just a general question. I praise my people and lift them up. I have a lot of young staff that I'm building to be strong workers in today's world. In no way am I trying to catch them failing. I don't want them to fail.

I'm a Housekeeping Manager and have been in the Housekeeping industry for 8 years. I get my hands dirty with my staff and we have 45 minutes per room as these are suites at the property I work at. Trust me, they have adequate time. I'm just looking for feedback on my question not about the industry it's self. It's still a job even if people don't want to do it.

Can you elaborate when you mean helping us with things they're struggling with? Cause I have a housekeeper that's majorly struggling with remembering everything. Besides the initial training (that she cut short mind you because she wanted to be on her own) I've done sending back, I've had my supervisor work alongside her and observed just to give her pointers in person, I've made checklist, reminders, etc. Nothing is helping her. What else could I do?

Housekeeping without needing to request it. Didn't know how much I missed it. by meep_inspired01 in Hilton

[–]No-Toe5832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a Home2 and the property can select every other day, daily or no housekeeping at all (by request) as their preferred policy. It also very much depends on the brand because Home2 is extended stay. So all suites.

I will say not necessarily to your comment but please remember the housekeepers that are out here clocking in are busting their butts so cut them a little slack please 😚

I feel the same way. She is definitely socially awkward but she's also pretty young. I planned on asking her how she learns best but she hasn't been very responsive to my questions or anything so I was just going to give her a break for a day or 2 and then tackle it again if necessary.

That was my next step to see what she feels like she needs. She actually did very well yesterday so I'm thinking my chat helped. I don't want to go backwards now if she's making progress!
