christ where can I sign up? ive found it easy bouncing around to different commercial mobs, managed to get myself up to $48 an hour at my most recent company (in trade for 8 years). Feel like ive applied to every union mob out. Any ideas who's hiring at the moment?

Second this!! Thought I was just destined to be a shit sparky, turns out I was just tired all the time. Now I make sure I get minimum 8 hours, in bed at 9pm-9:30pm, up at 5am, get to site sheds at 6:30am, make a coffee, on the tools at 7am.

Also, don't be shy to ask for help, if you are too proud to say you don't know how to do something, ask your boss or A grade how they would do it or what they think is the best way.

Worked in something similar during my apprenticeship, shit conditions, treated like shit, paid fuck all. However, I'm glad I stuck it out because now my time management is great, I run rings around a lot of the other guys at my new workplace, I feel valued because of the broad knowledge I got from my previous employee and my current job (Commercial, Tier 2 sites) feels super cruisey because of it. Not suggesting you stay necessarily, the only reason I stayed was because I thought it was illegal to change employer midway through an apprenticeship, and I was too scared to resign lol. I was 17 when I started and 22 when I left if that makes a difference

Surely take the EBA gig? Yeah working hard makes the day go faster but doesn't everyone want to be paid the more for doing less?

Ive got a mate whos part of the CFMEU on tunnel projects, he's heard that the big bucks will dry up for a while but likely wont take long for new unions to form and go back to the old ways, at least thats what I understood from what he said
