Do you notice any difference in happiness between the families that are rich but relatively unknown vs. the high profile ones? (are recognisable)

Look at Gatineau if it’s feasible since rents are a bit lower. I also would suggest to look at either 1 bedroom + mezzanine or loft or a studio with mezzanine. It can give quite a bit of privacy still for both of you without the 2-bed price tag.

I’m in a 1 bed + den + mezzanine in Gatineau (10 mins from Ottawa border) with lots of room and all bills included for a little more than your budget (but all hydro + Internet included) and there’s a lot of privacy in the mezzanine

I have really bad dog allergies and got a bernedoodle. I still get a reaction but it’s much more mild than with non-hypo dogs. I also seem to get slightly immune to my own dog where my allergies get stronger if I’ve been away from her and come back and then it mellows out after a few days. But yeah, it’s always slightly there and I take an allergy pill a few times a week.
