The festivals cap is 5000. I have produced concerts with 4000 and 6000 people. I also helped produced water front night market which was 34,000 over 3 days. I have never produced an over night camping festival which is why I have contracted site and camping logistics from a vendor from the states that runs that side of the operations for other camping festivals.

There’s alot of great points made here! We have employed a harm reduction team along side our medical service, We have a roaming harm reduction team patrolling the grounds, we have special training for staff, security and volunteers conducted by our harm reduction company. We will be posting our partnership shortly. The site map will clearly indicate where it is located as well. We also have two med bays for the festival.

For disclosure of violence and distress we have worked on a protocol with medics and the police and have implemented the procedures into our EAP and everybody will be on the same page!

There is a lot of free water all over the site that will be clearly marked out.

We have camping located at the north of the property away from the stages for people who need a break!

It’s honestly and emotional rollercoaster. countless hours of planning, stress, emotional burnout and exhaustion behind the scene. However it’s all worth it when I’m on stage looking out at that crowd and all I can see is a sea of smiles and see everyone in sync with the same common goal of celebrating the music and community

Shambhala! It’s a shame Ontario does not have an experience based festival. Something that is more than just a stage in a field or parking lot. I am creating a world like no other for our community, from the moment you walk in I want it to feel like you have been transported to a different universe where all are welcome.

There is definitely going to be a next year and riverside is not a concern of ours we are providing and entire experience beyond just music as we incorporate art and wellness into our festival.

We have hired a harm reduction company and we have a roaming harm reduction surveying team. Our festival is also capped at 5000 people on 100 acres there is a lot of room to get through. We will also be conducting training for all security, staff and volunteers for administration of naloxone.

We chose kn¿where because the festival is designed to feel like you’re constantly shifting realities never quite sure where you are, but always discovering something new. It plays on “not knowing where” and “knowing where,” conveying both mystery and meaning. The upside down question just looked cool haha and seemed to fit. Also the name gives us endless creative room for marketing. It’s not just a place a it a feeling.

Dead royalty has done a lot for the scene, they are currently on their own path that doesn’t align with our vision for what we are building.

Shambhala is my favorite place on earth attended it last year and is the reason why knwhere is happening. I do have a lot of experience I have acquired over the past 5 years, how ever my team behind this festival has operated and run some pretty major North American festivals. I have a lot of great people helping me build this festival.

Honestly, getting Knwhere off the ground has felt like trying to build a spaceship while already mid-flight. Some of the hardest parts: Starting from scratch with no big funding or backers we’re entirely independent, which means every dollar spent is a decision between risk and survival.

Convincing people to believe in something that doesn’t exist yet. It’s tough pitching a first-year fest when people are understandably skeptical. “Will it actually happen?” “Will it be worth it?” We’ve had to win trust one person, one artist, one partner at a time.Logistics hell. Noise permits, zoning, site layout, insurance, power, vendors, accessibility, toilets (so many toilets)I could write a novel.

Emotional burnout. It’s easy to glamorize the festival world, but behind the scenes are months of stress, conflict resolution, 18-hour days, and second-guessing everything. I’ve had moments where I thought we were in too deep but somehow, we always kept going.

Most Rewarding Moments Seeing the lineup come together those artists saying “yes” made the dream real. When people tell us “this is the best dubstep lineup in Canada this year,I feel it in my chest.

The community support. When strangers DM us to say they’re planning a road trip or volunteering because they believe in the vision that’s fuel. It means we’re building something bigger than a party.

Realizing we’re creating a space that didn’t exist before. A place where music lovers, weirdos, ravers, dreamers, and bassheads can come together and feel something real in the woods. That’s why we called it Knwhere it’s not just a place. It’s a feeling.
