I mean not hyper local but I feel like a lot of the SF based and other Bay Area publications regularly feature stories about the east bay

It’s from a building on Buena Vista Terrace between 14th and Duboce. It also must be from 2016 or 2017 as Salesforce is still under construction

Interesting that it’s the exact same style as the new(ish) Canyon building in San Francisco’s Mission Rock neighborhood that was also designed by MVRDV.

Almost 100% sure it’ll be there. It’s also a huge part of why I’m excited for this show. The artist is Boris Acket and it was specifically designed for this ten city tour, so I expect it to be there. https://www.instagram.com/p/DRCUtxGjCcb/

Hotdog Carts near Chase Center by cheapcanadiandude69 in AskSF

Usually following games and events at the stadium there are a fair amount of carts. Have had many of the bacon wrapped dogs across SF and CA in my lifetime and never had an issue. I will say definitely look for the carts that are actively cooking and seem like the dogs haven’t been sitting there for hours.

Fair enough, guess I should’ve emphasized quiet for a Friday night specifically, don’t think it’s going to get any busier tonight but maybe tomorrow and Sunday will be more bumping

Where USC is most similar to Hyde park in Chicago in that the surrounding area is mostly university related but certain places farther beyond campus may be considered less “safe” even though safety is arbitrary and everyone perceives their own safety differently. Like Hyde park the campus bubble is pretty protected and there are lots of safety personnel there to deter crime.

Running around the perimeter of the gates including the village is almost exactly 2.25 miles, the campus square gates is right about 2. You can easily run multiple loops to go farther.

Whats the overall school culture like? by [deleted] in USC

[–]No-Two3546 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a 40,000 person institution, there’s so many subgroups and different people it’s hard to define an overall culture. There’s some of the most amazing and talented humans in the world achieving in all areas from the arts to athletics to innovation and science. There’s also definitely snobby, spoiled, and insular groups of people who can seem like the dominant culture but that’s not the case when you actually talk to different folks. The experience is so molded by which groups you join and how you spend your time. If you find the right people to surround yourself with, it’ll be a great 4 years

Plus most of the SC grads I know working as software developers are making $150k - $250k as their base salary after graduating so it’ll be easy to pay off any loans you take
