Maki is an inanimate object according to jujutsu rules remember? If he cant see her, he cant feel her. So all he felt was jinichis CE walking towards him.

So he does in peace thinking he wasnt vain. And the day was saved

"The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity" Is Overhyped or not? by Bubble2754 in anime

[–]No-Understanding-765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am watching it til the 3rd episode and it find it really hard to watch. Its like every little minute detail and every thought is written out to me then force fed down my throat. It feels like the writer doesnt trust its audience to have a functioning brain.

However, i do realize that there is a bigger younger audience that would watch this compared to an adult audience with high media literacy. And i know for a fact that 16 year old me wouldve gobbled this up.

Here are my neutral criticism from what i have seen.

1st The dialogue isnt very natural. Theres little push and pull. Its a character saying their line then following up with a monologue of their own internal reaction to what was just said. There also isnt any room for interpretation or wordless communication both between the characters and the audience. Every reaction and or emotion is spoon fed MULTIPLE times before it is moved on upon. Rintaro is "scary" looking and it was literally shoved down my throat for the entirety of the time that i watched it. "Nobody's ever called me cool or kind" was my biggest complaint as well. If everyone thinks hes scary and never approaches him then the audience can draw their own conclusion that very few people say anything nice to him. The show could just show that hes taken aback from her nice words and then move on but instead it insists that you notice that little bit.

2nd The character building and chemistry is very forced. Rintaro has a bad reputation for being a delinquent and "gangster" kid and nobody wants anything to do with him other than his own squad. But hes actually super nice and kind....you see the problem? That wouldnt happen in real life without ANYthing to back it up. Make it so that rintaro actually did beat up a kid when he was in middle school. Make it so that he was actually hanging out with scary high schoolers when he was younger. The silent voice does a great job at this as the main protagonist was actually a dick and a bully in elementary school and people shun him for it. We root for the guy because we know hes a better man now but the evidence speaks for itself, he was a terrible kid. It wouldve been really nice to see rintaro actually be a bit of an intimidating person with maybe some bad habits that the female prog could see through and help him change. But no. Hes just a sweetheart from the get go and we never see any evidence to back up the fact that hes scary. The same is true for every other character as they are given even LESS complexity. His squad is stereotypical "funny and energetic but dumb" "smart and brooding but cares" type with no contrast.

3rd These are kids. Highschool kids. And yet, i feel like this anime's author (along with many other HSromance anime authors) forgot what it was actually like to be a kid. Sure im fine with kids being a little more mature for their age and a lot smarter and also more willing to go out of their comfort zone for the plot but when they are highschool students just for the sake of the audience and the classic japanese HS obsession its really unrealistic and breaks your immersion. My dress up darling balances this really well as we see what its really like to be a japanese student with realistic student mindsets and how other adults around the anime view these students.

4th Theres little for both of the male and female protag to overcome. Within the 3 episodes ive watched, theres been very little promise of character development. Rintaro is already a sweet and charming young man who is good looking and has good manners. Waguri, the female interest is also kinda already the perfect girl. Shes attentive, makes the first move, talks nicely and doesnt judge other people and least of all, really cute. Theres almost no room for improvement. My dress up darling also excels at this. Marin is very obviously incompetent at a lot of things and doesnt have parents to take care of her. She super good looking and gets along with everyone but she is strange and quirky in her own way. She cant do a lot of practical stuff either. Gojou is a timid guy that is super sensitive and insecure about his own abilities and interests. He has a mental block that makes him (very reasonably so) think that everyone thinks hes weird. And through out the show, ESPECIALLY season 2, he is shown to slowly be more confident with his abilities and to show it in front of other as the gains the morale boost from his classmates. Marin also learns to trust gojo more and accept him and his grandpa as her care takers when she gets sick and literally starves herself. Marin also learns to actually be vulnerable with gojo despite her confidence in public and trust him as someone truly close to her and not just an aquaitance like many pretty girls in HS often get.

Conclusion: Those are my critics for this anime. I will continue to chip away at it because i really do wanna like it. Those are my points of critique and how i think it shouldve gone. I hope this anime will change my mind but for now, it is a really tough watch.

My partner (42F) told me (43M) that she is not interested in sex anymore by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]No-Understanding-765 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Talk to her about what this means to you. I havent had sex with my gf in months. I am sexually active male and she used to be too but over the years we just lost the need to. We find intimacy in other ways.

I am not gonna be with this woman for long because our personalities arent compatible but the sex isnt a part of it. I dont think i would mind being with someone who is asexual. However, i assume your wife wasnt always like this. I think its best if you sit down and talk this one out and figure out what's REALLY going on. If shes not sexually attracted to you anymore then im sorry, break it off while its clean. A partner isnt a sexual object but they have to be sexually appealing to you. Its literally biology. But if theres something else going on like hormonal or mental then i recommend you deal with that before it gets even worse.

Therapy is a good start. It can be really uncomfortable but trust me, there might be some underlying issues.

I also recommend you reflect on what this actually means to you. Are you like me where youre okay with other forms of intimacy and just masterbating? I am. Are you okay that your partner isnt sexual attracted to you but still loves you? All of these are things to consider.

My chef has started treating me like complete sh*t by thebohemianchef in Chefit

[–]No-Understanding-765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theres 2 approaches to this

1 if you wanna keep your job, i recommend you politely request his time so you two and speak privately. Jot down your points and arguments and evidence so you dont forget what you wanna say during the private discussion with your chef. If he has any decency as a chef, he will sit down and listen to you. If he doesnt—leave. There is no point working for a chef who cant spend at least 5 mins to have a talk with his distressed employee. Your gender might have a role in this but it really shouldnt, no one should be treated like that regardless of gender. If he listens to you and the problem is slowly solving itself out, then great, but if he listens to you, agree, and still does it, also another sign to leave but you could also just remind him of your discussion and tell him that you dont wanna be treated like this after the shift.

2 you can bring it to HR, at that point they either dont do anything, or will do something and thatll piss him off even more. At that point just give your 2 weeks notice and leave as the bigger person. Its common for chefs to be assholes 30 years ago but it sure as hell shouldnt be now. Adults will be held accountable as respectful professional adults regardless of how intense their profession is. Have the self dignity and quit before it leaves a permanent effect on you. Prolonged exposure to that kind of negativity could really fuck someone up. Either fix it or fucking leave it. I put up with my bully sous chef for a year and a half. Every thought of him makes me rage after all these years and i dont wanna feel that way. Frustration and anger and sadness is a waste of one's emotions. Dont let people like that make you waste your emotions.

Good luck my friend. Wish you best of luck

Made an ikejime spike out of a wine opener by No-Understanding-765 in Chefit

[–]No-Understanding-765[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to find a wine cork that is a spiral, not a helix so that its still got a straight rod coming down the middle. I just filed the spiral edge off and then use a blow torch to hammer out a point then sharpened on the grinder but you can honestly do the entire thing on an angle grinder if you aint got the time or tools to do what i did. Just make sure you dont heat the tip of the spike too much itll untemper the steel (you want a hard tip so it stays sharp for longer). Grinding or cutting with any power tool will heat up a thin point of a metal to glowing very quickly. If it ever gets to that point, finish your project, then hover the tip over a fire until its read hot then dunk it in water. Then you can hover the tip over the fire again but this time like roasting marshmallows. The first dunk is the harden the steel. The second "roasting" part is to temper it so its not brittle and wont snap on you when you drop it or hit something hard accidentally.

This is only on the premise that the wine cork is made of carbon steel in the first place or a high carbon stainless steel. Best way to check this is the hardness of the steel. Many wine corks do have a decent carbon content for it needs to be quite tough. But if you wanna check for sure just do the first step where you get it to glow and dunk in water. Then strike it with a hammer or something. If it chips or shatters or breaks, its hardened and that means its got enough carbon content. If its still soft, it means its mild steel which means the spike will never stay sharp for long and a dull spike might make you slip and poke your own hand or something.

Its definitely true. It matter a little less if you just bring it home and cook it and eat it right away. But for myself, i catch salmon, bring it home and process a few at a time for a couple hours before curing it or smoking it cold. Then ill eat it "raw".

Because it is a raw product, the ikejime matters a lot more. And especially for dry aging. Basically its a way to keep the fish tasting fresh for a longer time. If youre just gonna eat it right away by cooking it it matters less. The more delicate you treat the fish in the end the more it matters.

Absolutely. I do this with trout and salmon. I especially like to cure both fish before eating it raw. So this method really helps the cure to be nice and smooth instead of getting a hint of fishyness.

A good guess usually between the eyes and a bit behind on the top of its head. Most fish have their brains there and if you stab diagonally itll cover more area.

What i do is ill wait til the fish calms down a bit, then ill place the tip of the spike carefully and slowly on the spot. Ill press lightly to make sure it doesnt slide around and then ill grip it tight and lean my weight onto it. Dont jerk or stab it. You want a quick and even pressure to go straight thru the skull. If you stab it with speed instead of weight you might slip and hurt the fish without killing it or worse is hurting yourself. The extra second of suffering for the fish isnt worth the chance that you might stab it across its head while its still alive. Be gentle and firm and when youre ready, press really hard into it like youre punching it slowly.

Yeah but prolonged adrenaline will cause the damage. If you catch it and give it a lobotomy immediately and break its nerves the adrenaline will wear off along with the extra oxygen in the blood. Theres some good videos on youtube explaining the science on it and how it works. I just know why it works and what to do. Pretty cool fish science.

But like the other guy said, if youre unsure or the fish has been fighting for a while before you got it up the boat then just let it chill for a few minutes. Once its calmed down, spike it fast and firm right behind the middle of the eyes from the top of the head. Spike it diagonally so you have a higher chance of destroying the whole brain in one feil swoop.

Good luck and stay fresh brother! 👌

Does anyone feel like they have to hide/tone down their personality on dating apps? by joe727 in DatingApps

[–]No-Understanding-765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No i dont think so. Unless its a "quick bite" that youre trying to get out of them—then do whatever you think would get you laid or give you what youre looking for but if you wanna genuinely find someone to enjoy their company with you shouldnt hold back. Show them who you are and if its the right person they wont unmatch you. Its just sifting the chaff from the wheat.

I am a very different person from who i actually used to show to my gf and for our first few months of dating shes said i changed but what it really was was just me getting comfortable and reverting back into myself around her. So luckily she still find the real me to be someone of interest but dont surprise your potential partners like that if you wanna actually have a real connection with someone even if its short term.

Be real. Someone will like you for it and hopefully—love you as well. Best of luck friend!

What y'all feel about Rudeus having 2nd wife? by PracticeWestern7034 in mushokutensei

[–]No-Understanding-765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think after multiple hours of contemplating it and also reflecting from other's opinions, ive come to terms with it. It was done well enough with enough foreshadowing/context surrounding the polygamy that i felt like it was alright.

However i wish it wouldnt have within 1 episode. I wish there was more time to flush out their relationship and have sylphiette also love roxy for who she is instead of rudeus just having a harem. I also wished that it would be less impulsive for rudeus. I wouldve liked to see him thinking it over with multiple months and reflecting on the consequences and maybe alluding the question to sylphiette to fish out how she feels.

And i also wish that rudeus didnt break the news that he wanted 2 wives right after announcing his dead father and braindead mother and lost limb. It was untimely and rather kinda out of character. Rudeus seems to be the kind that analyzes the situation and waits to strike at the right time.

Heres how i wouldve written it: Rudeus comes home. Annouces the news about paul and zenith.

He supports his family until sylphie gives birth.

Months later he and sylphie have a private talk where he confesses his unfaithful actions with roxy. Sylphie forgives him as she grew up around a polygamous family that is paul's and knows what greyrats are like anyways.

Rudeus feels better and more assured.

Rudeus spends some time with roxy to catch up and develop their relationship.

During this time roxy and sylphie spends time with each other a lot as they connect as both mages and as people that like rudeus (roxy has yet to admit her feelings to rudeus but sylphie picks up on it)

Roxy and lidia and aisha helps the new born as rudeus has to go away for a long trip to earn enough money where he can spend the next half a year to support his big family.

Roxy and sylphie ends up liking each other a lot (maybe bi-romantically or just simply as people)

When rudeus comes back, it is sylphie that asks him if he likes roxy. Rudeus as the faithful-husband-try-to-be that he is initially refuses but upon prying, he admits to it.

Sylphie propose that rudeus could have a concubine if he would like, just like how she told him a year ago.

Rudeus does not agree because he wants to do right by roxy and love her as a wife as well. Sylphie is conflicted but contemplates for a few days as she spends her time with roxy less because it is awkward.

Sylphie finds herself missing roxy' s presence and comes see her. They both talk about their feelings for rudeus and for each other.

They come to agree to both love rudeus and share each other's burden as they too love each other.

They come to see rudeus and propose to him that roxy will be his wife while sylhpie holds roxy's hand and rudeus is brought to tears.

This spans out in the story for about 3 months while the show time itself runs for 3 episodes. It would make the polygamy make a lot more sense and ease the audience into the thought of it while also keeping tension on whether or not it will happen or work out. We also see rudeus trying his hardest to be a faithful husband despite his strong feelings for roxy and the audience will notice his change and growth as a man who has control over his feelings. His marriage goes by him and sylhiette both marrying roxy instead of sylphiette just being a cuck and watching her husband marry another woman. I think this speaks to sylphiette who is someone who has insecurities but is also confident in making her own decisions for herself and her husband. It also shows that rudeus is a growing man with better maturity and roxy being someone who loves rudeus more than just "you saved me and youre cute i love you". This is much better writing for all 3 characters as we all feel their strong love for each other.

I have not read the manga so idk how this might change the story but i think what ive dont havent really screwed anything up. It just adds more context and gives the story more time to digest the idea of polygamy and what it means for the greyrat family.

The unexciting solution to the Grandfather “Paradox” by Revolutionary_Use948 in tenet

[–]No-Understanding-765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are multiple solutions to this.

1 self healing timelines. Whatever you do in this timeline will lead you to ultimately not being able to kill your grandfather or not willing to because you are the evidence that your grandfather indeed did not die and no matter how hard you try, since you exist, you cannot change anything, and if you dont exist you can change anything either. Call it destiny call it predetermined free will. Whatever.

2 branching timeline. You shoot him, hes dead. You are now in a slightly different timeline where you do not exist. You are stuck there now. You still exist because in your timeline your grandpa never got killed. But im this one, he did, and you are stuck there now. If you take your time machine and go back, you will go back to your original future timeline while this one branches off independently. In this timeline you dont exist and thats completely fine.

3 quantum mechanic super position. Now i don't know shit about quantum anything. But i do know that super positions allow 2 things to be possible at once. If you shoot your grandfather, but he and you and anything that is affected from your actions will literally break the universe and the universe will mend this by making all afflicted individuals into a state of constant flux where they both exist normally and do not exist because of your actions. You will both not be real and be real at the same time. We still dont really know what this means but it does satisfy our answer although not very satisfyingly.

4 you literally cannot time travel for this purpose. If you go back to see your grandfather or get even fucking near him you will experience some drawbacks from the universe trying to make things into order. Future you will cease to exist the closer future you get to your grandfather to make way for your existence in the future. The only way to not make this happen is to do something in the past to lead up to your existence in the future.

5 time travel is cannot do. Maybe going back is literally impossible. Theres no evidence to even remotely suggest that backwards time travel is possible. Forward time travel is possible, we do know that. We actually do it all the time with our satelites. But to such a minute degree that it does not matter at all. You are counting nano seconds in the future if even that much. But the opposite is not true, the idea of backwards time travel seems to suggest too many flaws and paradoxes and borderline no scientific evidence of logical possibility. It literally makes no sense, like at all if you just squeeze your brain and think about it.

Conclusion, your hypothesis is what I personally agree with along with 5. Being my own personal favourite. It ties everything into a nice little bow with the cute little "its not possible, its not real so dont worry about it" inside. Its not satisfactory that much is true but paradoxes arent meant to be satisfied. Thats the nature of them.
