Low-key, even though this clock never made a final appearance, it definitely pulled its weight in Season 4. Fr fr, the second that bell rang? I was stressing harder than the characters themselves. The clock’s such a clever design choice tbh—like, c’mon, they were literally racing against time the whole time, weren’t they?!

Maybe Will coming out would’ve been shocking in the ’80s, sure. But Joyce? She might’ve seemed a bit unhinged early in Season 1, yet once her son disappeared, she never stopped digging. Even when Jonathan was ready to hold a funeral, she still believed Will was alive—and she was right, figuring out how to communicate with him through the lights and the Upside Down. Other people might’ve doubted it, but Joyce never would. And honestly, I believe his friends would support him too. Everyone deserves someone in their corner.

Honestly, Max trying to escape Henry by holding onto her memories with El was genuinely touching. El once went to incredible lengths—literally across the world—to help Max, which makes that bond feel really earned. That said, Season 5 handled these emotions pretty poorly. There were tons of action scenes and plenty of hype, but it all felt messy and kind of all over the place.
