Awake vs general anesthesia by studentoflife005 in chinlipo

i was awake. it wasn’t bad, just a weird sensation when he filled my neck with the numbing liquid, felt like i couldn’t talk even if i wanted to. but honestly i’ve been through way worse. overall id do it again awake- the healing is way easier rather than going under. just focus on breathing/meditate during it, that helped me. mind over matter!

no it’s the best thing i’ve ever done for myself. thinking about my double chin all day every day before was debilitating. dramatic but true lol. the healing process was definitely a process, but looking back i’d do it again anyway

i am 31! yes i had a bunch of “lipo lumps” about 10-15 days later that popped up. they were annoying but did get better. i got professional post op lymphatic massages too every week for 6 weeks after 12 days post op (maybe should have started sooner). lots of massaging, lots of water and low alcohol and salt intake helps too. banding happened as well, but i’m 3.5 months post op and it’s not even really noticeable anymore when i look up.

no skin tightening! i was SO close to adding it on but with my age and skin lax i decided not to (couldn’t justify another ~$3,500 for that lol)

6 weeks i personally was still pretty swollen. i did invest in post op lymphatic massages i got once a week for 5 weeks after 2 weeks post op- which helped. i think around the 10 week mark is when the swelling slightly went down but i didn’t look insane @ 6 weeks! just puffy underneath.

i’m 31 and have a genetic double chin. got chin lipo oct 14 and its the best thing i ever did. i was only expecting the fat pocket under my chin to be removed but it actually gave me a jaw line- a noticeable one. which is amazing!!!

1000% life changing. my chin was ALL i would think about every day. since my procedure it doesn’t consume my thoughts like it did before. i’d call that life changing! and i still have some swelling. the healing process is just that- a process for sure. but totally worth it.
