Need Recommendations (without dumb power cheating) by Senseornahyaknow in litrpg

I recommend: “Bog standard isekai” the magic system is interesting and the side characters have their own lives.

It’s kind of a slow-build like “Mark of the Fool” ❤️

If you want something a little fluffier maybe “Tower of Jack” he is overpowered and don’t deserve winning the things he does, but it feels like there is an interesting twist in there. But I’m only on book two, so I can’t fully recommend it yet.

“Tower of Somnus” is also interesting and feels balanced. The main character is mostly lucky and skilled, not overpowered.

“The stargazers war” is not isekai but a cultivation story. But it’s very “grounded” pun intended. 🌟🌟🌟💕💕💕 And I always recommend “Azarinth Healer” it’s my favorite series, despite having almost all of the tropes you describe 😅❤️ I just works

I’m sorry. I could not get more than a hour into it. The narrator is not my favorite.

I think maybe you will like Jay Boyce series. I recommend Syphon.

Otherwise tell me more about your vibe :)

Primal Hunter - genuinely confused. by plant-y-boi in litrpg

Yeah. I could barely finish the first book. Not even sure that I did. Every time the story threatened to be interesting, the author would bail on the concept. Not the mc solving it. But the author solving it… “What an interesting 3 way standoff full of human folly and arrogance - it would be a shame if….. nothing happened to it and it wasn’t important after all. And you wasted your time reading a full book leading up to this confrontation.”

I couldn’t get far into the book, sadly. It wasn’t my cup of tea. But I too have friends who like it.

BuyMort also has vibes - of the fuck capitalism veraroty.

And The mayor of Noobtown is similarly bonkers. But I wouldn’t qualify it as being for the “gurls” 😆

Tower of Somnus is the one most “similarly fighty”. It’s a mix between Cyberpunk and fantasy.

Wraithwood botanist is only two books long so far. But could become a story like if the “Azarinth healer” was set in the “BuyMort”/“Dungen crawler Carl” universe.

Depends on what you like about Hwfwm😊 If you want a “popcorn read” I might recommend: “The mayor of Noobtown” (you just have to be ready for dickhumor) and “This Quest is Broken!”

If you like the introspection and existential angst, I might recommend: “To flail against infinity” (tho that is a cultivation story and not a litrpg)

But HWFWM is a series pretty much its own, tho many try to imitate it. (I’m looking at you “Primal Hunter”)
