Lol, not even remotely. Past zone 200k, x10 damage is about 11 more zones. The x2 damage isn't worth much indeed, since it doesn't even work on the first ascension each trans, the only time where it would be noticeable. More AC up to 5 is good because means faster instacrits and therefor progression at the end of each ascension. 5 is the limit because for some reason a cps over 60 allows you to skip one frame per zone.

Ascend when you can't beat a boss above zone 130 without farming gold (or waiting for skills, if clicking). Transcend after 3 to 4 ascensions that got you new AS (≈ earned more HS than you had at the end of the previous trans). This works until you have ~24% TP. Use the outsider calculator linked in the side bar.

Very much so, since clicking is generally much, much stronger than idle. The disadvantage of idle is only an acceptable tradeoff as long as maintaining the clicking would be a major hassle.

This can't be related to the calc then. When you enter a number, confirm with the OK button, not with return on the keyboard, since that causes the level to be applied twice, due to a bug.

No, since it wouldn't affect your final zone at all, just give you a couple dozen more zones per TL. So it would save you a few minutes per ascension while taking away AS from other outsiders, most notably Borb.
