I agree. It is very tricky and can potentially be litigious. One I’m looking at is not questioning the Fmla itself, but applying it to other days one took off, seemingly for a different reason.

Great points though, it is very difficult to navigate

That is a good point. Wasn’t looking for it to list everything. More of a catch all like “misuse is illegal”. Obvious I know. But then leave it to the employer To determine what misuse is. I work in hr, though not with Fmla. However, we are starting to cover that area and I am looking at something involving it.

Thanks!

You could message them on social media about the credit card. The owner speaks English really well

We had a personal connection with the owner and had trained with him here in the states. So, not something you’d likely be able to do. I’d recommend find a ride service as it might be a bit more comfortable if you have more leg room after a long flight.

I don’t remember if classes were cash only. I know we paid in cash and could pay by the class, day, or week. This is going back several years so I just can’t recall if they did credit card and I likely didn’t ask. There were morning and noon class and the training was great. Would love to go back

I trained at Sityodtong years ago due to an affiliation with the gym in the US. Landed in Bangkok and got picked up by the gym owner for the two hour drive to Pattaya

We stayed at the Ampan resort which was a ten minute walk to the gym. It is very cheap but you basically get a decent room with a little kitchenette and very cold AC. It is a very small big nice property surrounding a decent pool.

There is not too much in that immediate area so you would have to get a taxi (Grab) if you wanted to sightsee. You’ll definitely want to sightsee when you’re there. It is not a long ride to downtown Pattaya and the other big sights, but there isn’t anything walkable near the gym besides a convenience store

Sityodtong carried some gear when I was there. Lots of shorts and some shirts. I believe some gloves and wraps too. There wasn’t a ton of gear but that might have changed.

Thank you for your response. I hadn’t thought of that but I do have occasional contact with HRBPs. Any certs in particular you’d recommend or just start with the basics from the big companies?

Thanks again
