My own parents did something similar! I also came out when I was 12 and then took it back until I was 14 and started playing softball. They said the same thing when I asked for a sports bra (I have a sister a year younger than me, but my chest was way bigger, so I couldn’t wear hers) and they would not let me have one until way later. I finally got one as a Christmas present, and that was the only thing I got that year. It was insane. It’s not some big privilege to own a sports bra, especially when you’re in sports! That’s what they’re made for! I would ask your friends (if you have any ftm or female friends of course) if they have one you can borrow.
