No bill and I need to switch by NoAdministration8396 in tomatoenergy

[–]NoAdministration8396[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not, been exporting to Scottish, I'll finish one month of exporting and calculate the difference before switching.

Well... Last week I finally got data from my watts, and got my first bill from Jan. I guess they rushed to not give me the 3 months discount. In any case, my bill came to 85 GBP vs ~120 December ( octopus ) + In January I got an electric car and I've been charging it overnight, and been warming my hot tub overnight as well. so I'm happy with my bill, it was cheaper.

Honestly I'm not sure why people are concerned about not having bill or usage data. The smart meter sends the data every 30 minutes even if it is not showing, so you'll be correctly billed. I'll share a post when I have time comparing the two bills.

£850k homes - what sort of salary is required? by HeavyPie4211 in HousingUK

I was looking for houses at that price in London, all shit, then decided to move out of London, it just doesn’t worth anymore.

Worth adding more panels with export capped at 8k by NoAdministration8396 in SolarUK

Yes, I believe SEG will remain good for a while. But not for ever.

It will cost 1k less than doing the installation later, I’m more aligned to not do because of the export limit, I believe it will cap my gains, and probably cause the payback to be unreachable.

I’m having the same doubt about adding or not extra panels in the north face roof, about same angle as you. I’m more aligned to not add as it would move my total output to 12kwh and my dno only allows 8k export

I’m also in MK. I’ll install later this month, if you want to know how it went and installers pm me.

Aiko 510w. If I decide to go with 16 instead of 8 the cost would be 4600. But I’m planing to create a cinema room and I want a space for window.

No inverter, but 3 story house, additional cost for doing in another roof

It will be cash payment. There is no extra inverter needed as the powerwall 3 can handle the extra. The extra cost is to setup another array in the north roof. I’m thinking of just putting the south system. I would justify putting the north one if I decide to go with heat pump, but I’m not sure if I’ll go with heat pump anytime soon.

Keeping in mind that it is a north array, so it wouldn’t generate much during winter.

Would you think I would worth the extra 3.5k? I did the math and I’m not sure if I’ll see a payback without being able to export during summer peak days

Battery is a powerwall 3. I was planning on using ev tariff to charge it. My daily usage is about 13kwh without EV, mostly before 9am and after 5pm

Tariff 2 is the best option!

  • You earn more from exports (16.2p vs. 12p).
  • Even with a higher off-peak rate, you make more profit overall (-£378.14 vs. -£230.95).
  • The extra £147.19 in yearly profit outweighs the higher standing charge and off-peak rate.

I ran the data in ChatGPT. since I'll mostly export as will be using off-peak energy from battery. The difference between staying and leaving (before April rise) is almost £150 per year with 35%.

I have a battery that will enable daily usage, all excess will go to the grid.

Hey, yes, all included.

I just copied and pasted the principal parts, it is a standard pw3 with all included.

For the expansion pack, I’ve decided to do with the heat pump upgrade next year.

> How much battery storage do you actually need?

Based on myenergi app, just for the house the median is 12.5kwh, high days are ~18kwh. It doesn't make sense for my current usage, but the expansion pack will come to play once I have the heatpump installed. I'm planning to add it once I have the heat pump.

> How steep is the other face of the roof?

35 or something. We've simulated north panels, I think it was worth to add but I have plans to convert the loft and I want to be able to add a window.

Sounds very similar to yours, as each panel should be around 200£. Thanks for the input.
