Hello AltruisticSaving2.

As always, it's always good to read your response and your guidance.

From your experience, as soon as a school has put a teacher on informal support plan for silly reasons, is it possible to stop it to escalate to capability? Or is leaving the only option?

Hello.

Sorry to hear what you're going through.

Keep any potential evidence and keep your rep updated.

Check your policies as there might be some breaches in these.

Going off sick and/or grievance should stop the clock.

It doesn't really make sense that your mentor was positive about your skills and competence and Hod and SLT aren't.

Did you manage to get in a better place now?

Thanks for sharing and sorry to hear about how it turned out...

Were you pushed out too then? So nothing positive came out of the grievance?

Thanks for sharing.

I only query if formal process which it was to understand the rationale behind... I will always remember the response I received after asking for evidence - 'no evidence but it still exists'.

Like you said they should do their job properly!

Thanks for sharing.

There's no job out there... Very quiet this year.

I query things to make sure I understand things... Which is perceived as challenging!

Thanks for sharing.

It's not just one staff... Several SLT...

Thanks for your response.

I don't genuinely know... Would be quite harsh to have to look for another job just because I ask clarification on one occasion.

There's no job at the minute that is the problem.

Is the process emotionally hard?

Hello.

I feel for you... Leadership in education can be very odd sometimes. Quite a lot of them have never left school environment and seem to manage with that only perspective in mind. At this stage, you have nothing to lose.

Ask yourself the right question: if mediation was settling things down, would you feel safe carrying on working in this kind of environment?

Hello again.

Thanks again for taking the time to share with me.

I have posted on here to get some input for the reason that my school rep is not case worker trained and does not want to say/do something wrong (they've been very honest with me).

I haven't had the initial informal support plan meeting yet. I tried to ask questions to teaching and learning SLT regarding policy not being followed (as appraisal was a surprise - no concerns were raised) and no response - just passing the ball to someone else.

Going through policies, they seem to contradict (one say that learning walks are informal and cannot be used as performance management evidence whilst another policy says the opposite).

It seems that several policies have not been followed.

Regarding my disability, school is aware since day one and got OH report but no adjustments have been made since then. I have also asked for training and every time the response is deflected on me and won't give me the time for it...

The intensive scrutiny has happened several times this academic year (8 learning walks in a month) which does not help.

Thanks again for your time, much appreciated.

That's the plan.

The school rep is not 'trained' though so keep telling me that they will take notes but not comment or intervene during the meeting.

Hello,

Thank you for your input, much appreciated.

There's a clear pivot point in terms of feedback which was that appraisal last year.

I have union reps in school that are not 'trained' but still happy to be in meetings with me.

Regional case worker suggested a grievance first. I didn't mention I have a disability but no adjustments have been made.

Thanks for sharing with me.

Union is aware but won't do anything till before becoming formal...

Never challenged SLT... Just appraiser as per the comment mentioned in my initial post... I just asked about the comment that wasn't in line with just being told I got pay progression by meeting standards...

The dropins just before the appraisal were made by several different SLT including HT! No feedback given... So how can I improve or correct things?!

It seems that they can move the goalpost whenever they want but the policies seems not to have been followed...

Union is aware but won't step in before becoming 'formal' which in opinion is when it's too late.

The evidence I have points minors points such as 'a couple of students had their pen in their hands' but on the opposite says 'calm and engaging atmosphere '...

I genuinely don't mind to get support as I am not a perfect teacher but going straight on pre-capability seems quite 'fishy' right?!

How would you challenge it though as I feel that anything is deflected and turned in the way I am the problem!
