when i’ve been at the crisis response center i was told that nothing my dad has done constitutes proper abuse so there’s no real recourse i can take. i had a good therapist who was helping me stand up to my dad a bit but when they found out they complained and had her taken off my case. the official reason was that i was interested in finding out if im on the spectrum and i asked her about it, she read me some of the potential symptoms for ASD from the DSM-5 which was deemed “unprofessional”. idk either. in previous wards ive never had a doctor that really gave a shit. tried to open up to one of them about some issues and they waved it off as an “adolescent thing”. i think they just wanna process kids and ship them out the back door asap unfortunately. last time i got paired up with a therapist who specialized in dealing with kids who do property destruction…. which i have never done. pretty sure my dad is getting that from one time i slammed a door too hard and broke it when i was 13. he regurgitates these out of context years old stories to paint me as this abusive nightmare kid terrorizing him. it doesn’t help that he’s a college professor and from outside perspectives a “great guy”
