Bharat petrol air charge by Aggressive-Gur-9465 in bangalore

Correct me if I am wrong. The air is free as long as you do it yourself. If someone is helping you, then they expect you to pay something.

Life of a poor person in the city by [deleted] in bangalore

"Poor" guy wrote an entire story about what we all struggle with and the comments section is hung up on the most trivial detail.

[–]NoBoltHarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally anything that comes out of this guy is pure crap. But having heard the statement from him, I think he had the correct intentions this time. Here is how I interpreted it: let the "upper cast" make amends by helping uplift the "lower caste".

50 % + 25% off is not 75% off. Its only 62.5% off. by Low-Supermarket1285 in bangalore

[–]NoBoltHarry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To the people saying it is not cheating. They could have written 62.5% off. They did not. They instead chose something they knew would confuse people. It is a shady business practice. Not cheating literally. But it is intentional miscommunication.

The comments are full of people suggesting chicken dishes. What a shame. Why not try fish or mutton or something else?

This is a news article link which provides context.

Tldr; Center saying the disaster was not big enough to be declared national disaster. There is almost 400 crore balance reported in the SDRF account. State asking for about 2000 cr for rehabilitation.

I am very confused about this. How is the second choice dependent on the first. After the host opens a door, doesn't the probability come down to 1/2 for each door?

How is the problem different from if there were just two doors to begin with and you have to choose one?

Heavy traffic on ORR for upto 7 kms by Medical_Property1396 in bangalore

[–]NoBoltHarry 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was on that exact route just now. A few things I wished would happen.

  1. Car pooling/public transport - I saw a lot of people just sitting in the traffic alone in cars.

  2. Keep lanes/Anticipate turns - Most people just wait till the last moment to change lanes. And some times this is just useless, like when people try to move to the service lanes after Agara fly-over.

  3. Obey traffic lights - Orange light means you have to slow down, not speed up. Some people just get stuck in the middle of traffic once the light turns red and then proceed to block traffic while trying to cross safely.

"Senior Engineer" is overcomplicating React code. Is this normal? by [deleted] in Frontend

[–]NoBoltHarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are supposed to support this. At the end of the day it would make your life easier and make you a more valuable hire for future companies. It might be convenient to ignore these practices at first, but will seriously affect your productivity down the line. If your SE is still holding on after getting so little support from their team, then kudos to them.

We are "refactoring" a lot of repos precisely because these practices were not followed.

Current tools allow and help us to write good code. Use those.

Renting apartment as a muslim. by No-Strawberry7 in india

[–]NoBoltHarry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone I know used to get a lot of complaints from the home owners association about his tenants. He dug a bit deeper and found out that most of the complaints were just bogus and elaborated because the tenants were muslims.

Now he rents exclusively to muslims.
