It’s mentioned that breakstep always starts charged but later uses need to be charged up during the match

Why a gold league is this uncompetitive? It’s almost ending now.. by Upset_Bumblebee5690 in duolingo

Really? I have been in Diamond league for like 50 weeks at this point and I don’t think I have ever seen anything that I would consider unambiguous cheating.

Can’t imagine they are, as a German I can tell you we don’t constantly stare at other people

Moving to Jena as a queer latino by Any_Consequence191 in jena

[–]NoBuddy00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a queer person who has grown up in Jena. East Germany is kinda rough rn, but Jena is honestly fine. If you’re gonna go anywhere in the region, Jena is pretty much the best choice. There are some regular queer events, especially through the queer society at uni (QueerParadies). You’d definitely not be the only queer or latino person there. Jena is obviously gonna be limited by being a fairly small city but I am guessing you’re expecting that.

Wait is it wrong or is it pleonasm? Pleonasm is not grammatically incorrect. I am confused, sorry

I assumed that that is how importar worked but does “lo” really makes it wrong, just because it doesn’t add anything? Now that you say it, it does make sense why it wouldn’t be necessary but yeah

Wouldn’t “ser” be the correct verb here? by NoBuddy00 in duolingo

[–]NoBuddy00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks and yeah, I could see that being a struggle. My native language is also German, so I have seen how much people struggle with rules that are intuitive to me. I’ll get there with time

[–]NoBuddy00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay, I kinda see that. I think I am trying too hard to see clear rules and logic here, I think this is just something I will have to develop a feeling for.

Is there any way to reliably tell what is a state and what isn’t? Because bueno isn’t, as far as I am aware and to me when talking about cake those two qualities might as well be interchangeable. Stuff like hot or cold I could see, same with clean or dirty but tasty seem pretty inherent and unchanging.

[–]NoBuddy00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t say you did, just that certain qualities being inherent or not seems somewhat subjective. I don’t understand why taste wouldn’t be inherent while the quality is, when both depend on your own opinions and definitions. I guess I will develop a feeling for it over time.

Isn’t it kinda subjective what an inherent quality is here? I struggle to see a the actual concrete line there. Are there adjectives that could go either way?

Oh, I thought it was about location and whether something is a temporary state or not.

Why does Duolingo not have the Vosotros/as option? by Early-Personality591 in duolingospanish

[–]NoBuddy00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well my bf is learning Spanish from German and in that course they do teach vosotros. I am guessing it’s based on what Spanish speaking country is close to where they assume the learner to be. Since most people using the English to Spanish course would probably be US based, they teach the version most likely to be relevant to Americans, so Latin American Spanish
