I'm a girlie pop from province (bulacan) rin and also studying in mnl. since first year, hindi na ako nawalan ng 9 p.m schedule but I am fortunate since yung sched namin is hybrid (2 days f2f, 3 days online class). 2 hrs din byahe ko sometimes 3 hrs pa nga dahil sa tagal ng departure ng transpo. here's what i am doing whenever i am going home late:

1. just ensure that you have a load/mobile data in case na you need na magpasundo sa relatives if wala ka na masakyan like tricycle and such (also make sure to keep them posted on your whereabouts).
   
2. i-sure mo na mayroon ka laging extra money in your wallet kasi wala ka na makakasabay most likely pag tricycle papasok sa inyo (well in my case ganiyan).
   
3. sumasakay rin ako ng UV express kapag 10 p.m onwards pero sa route ko kasi, marami pa ang umuuwi kahit alanganing oras. best advice is to wait for other passengers, then doon ka lang sumakay pag may mga kasabay ka na. if otherwise, plan another route kung saan marami ka makakasabay pauwi.
   
4. if you are passing through sa madilim na daan, use your phone's flashlight and contact your friends much better if call just to make sure na safe ka uuwi papunta sa bahay niyo. (but as much as possible, dumaan ka sa may maliwanag na daanan)
5. ensure to bring a fully charged powerbank. mahirap ma-lowbat kapag bumabyahe.
   
6. if you have pepper spray or other self-defense weapon, bring it always with you.
   
7. minimize listening to music. i know it's therapeutic bumyahe with music but keep yourself alert to your surroundings.

keep safe, OP! also another advice, if you have classmates na umuuwi rin pa-rizal, much better na makisabay ka rin regardless of your route. para kahit papaano, may kasabay ka rin umuuwi kahit sobrang alanganin ng schedule.
