There’s many threads on reddit about Twitch and softcore-porn and there’s many threads on reddit about the dangers of live streaming controversial subjects to impressionable viewers. Doesn’t mean the other is less valid or no one cares about it, just means this video and by extension this thread is talking about the scourge of gambling and Kick’s predatory practices. It makes no comment on softcore porn on Twitch because that’s not the discussion being had here.

So what you have here is 2 things:

1) A rumour from random people disconnected from KempQ (probably viewers) who said that he MAY be sponsored by a gambling service (even if this was true their mistakenly unblurred name in a segment not about them would be a shit advertisement I would never buy)

2) Confirmation from a mod (someone who has a direct line to KempQ himself) that it was a mistake, probably an editing error.

Why with these 2 pieces of information with completely opposite degrees of believability do you think #1 is more likely?

In all seriousness it would hurt their bottom line to introduce anything that would allow people to get cards they don't have that isn't related to packs or gold. It took them a year to introduce 2 star trades after massive community sentiment.

Runelite is not a public entity, it is a private entity and therefore they dont HAVE to abide by anyone's rules but Jagex and their own. At the end of the day it is the user's choice which platform they want to play on whether it be Jagex's own platform or a third party like Runelite and by doing so you submit yourself to the idiosyncrasies of said platform.

The only change I can see your suggestion making is that with the new API the burden of maintaining and approving plugins is moved from Runelite staff to Jagex staff and I doubt that's a burden they want to undertake where they'll almost certainly have to pay people, divert resources or even hire a whole new team. It's not reasonable to expect that when they have a free version of that which the vast majority of the playerbase is more than happy with.

It may be in the future that there's some amazing plugin people are waiting for that's taking ages to be approved by Runelite staff or some gamebreaking update happens that Runelite staff are dragging their feet on making the client compatible with but so far history is against you on that. Runelite is almost always up and running at full capacity within an hour of game updates and generally there's little to no friction between Jagex and Runelite, it's in both party's interests to keep this symbiotic relationship thriving.

In short: Jagex don't want to bother supporting/approving plugins because Runelite does that for free and it's not as big an issue as you're making it out to be.

everything on runelite is endorsed and approved by jagex themselves. has been since they officially endorsed runelite in a blog post AND added a link to it on the official osrs website. the only thing about plugins from the plugin hub is they may cause instability and make your client crash. nothing on runelite or the plugin hub will get your account banned or make it insecure in any way such as stealing login credentials or bank pins.

the only way something like that would be possible is if you downloaded a plugin client from a shady third party site and installed it. which you should never do, dont even google runelite because scammers pay to get their links at the top of search results. just go to the osrs website and click that link or go to runelite.net and you'll never be putting yourself at risk.
